His pre-fight diet and excercise are top notch in this division. He has always come in shape and paces himself well throughout the fight, while still keeping himself busier than his opponents (even fighters like Byrd and Ruiz were arguebly outpunched by him). He is a balanced combination of a boxer-puncher.

Golota showed heart, conditioning, and toughness. I didn't think he'd win actually, but he proved me wrong.

It was kind of sad seeing how slow he was. He doesn't have that beautiful snapping jab anymore and his left hook is telegraphed. Still, he has decently heavy hands and he's built like an ox. I'd like to see him step up the competition level slightly against a non-puncher and perhaps get one final crack at a title.

If he showed this kind of heart and discipline, he would have wins over Riddick Bowe and Michael Grant. As well as a heavyweight title belt.

He will actually have to rely on his improved mental attributes to off-set his deteriorating physical skills (ironic isn't it. this statment would have been seen absurd just 5 years ago), most notably his speed. He is still fundamentally sound and disciplined, using the jab to set-up the right-hand. His legs are stable and look strong. Ever since the Byrd fight, I believe his conditioning is actually improved. Even Stewart said Golota is doing everything right, except for the speed. Even without the speed, I believe Golota has a fair chance of beating the likes of Maskaev, Chagaev and Ibragimov. Klit. is off-limits though.

I havn't seen an eye shut that bad since rocky 1....and go on to win the fight was even better....i can't believe when the ref asked how many fingers he was holding up and golata said the right amount....I laughed... I thought he must have just guessed...you could have blinded him with dental floss for God sakes.

Probably. But can you say thesame for Maskaev, Chagaev and Imbragimav? If not, Golota is still a viable contender.

Ohhh.. Golota fans are getting set up for more disappointment:lol:

The only good thing is that Golota maintained discipline to some degree, though Newman wasnt trying to be overly involved and let both guys het away with some.

That said? Mollo SUCKS!!! I said it before and its true:yep Golota looked old slow, and beat up from a kid running on heart and fumes for the last 6 rounds.

Golota loses to the Maskaev vs Peter Winner:yep

Good win for Golota. His chin is OK after he gets warmed up, still, he is not as Good as Vlad, no where nearly as good.
