Frazier would rip Tyson's heart out and stomp on it. Frazier was a great fighter, a warrior, he ignored pain and never quit. He's the real thing, like Holyfield but better. He'd absolutely destroy Tyson. There's really no comparison. Yeah, but I'll let you guys carry on with the nonsense, I know some of you must be kidding. I even see some attempts to liken Frazier's chances to the pathetic showing from Mike Spinks !
This would be bad for Frazier. Tyson had the power, speed and snap in his punches to really bother Joe. Many has opined that if the fight goes into round 7 Frazier would win. Probably. Only thing is that it would not go so far. Painful early kayo loss for a brave Joe Frazier. And who said that Frazier would win a street fight with Mike Tyson. In addition to punching power a street fight would involve grappling also. Tyson was faster, more powerful and stronger than Frazier who was physically not very strong. A street fight against Tyson would be a more painful affair for Frazier than an actual boxing bout. Remember Jesse Ferguson - a big, tough HW who made it a bit of a match against Tyson inside the ring (well, he lasted till the 6th round - lost by disqualification - against a rampaging Tyson). On the street he was busted in double quick time by "Iron Mike" - broken nose and all.
Wasn't that Mitch Green? Tyson ran away from his fight with him, which probably was very sensible since somebody might well have brought knives and/or guns into to the fray.
1967 - 1969 Frazier would KO Tyson inside 10 rounds, if not earlier. Tyson wouldn't be able to handle the pressure and work rate of Joe Frazier from this time in his career. Tyson just might have Joe on the canvas once or twice early in the fight, but he'd break down mentally and physically after watching Joe get up and start coming after him. Tyson had nowhere near the endurance of Frazier and his punches would lose power after the 10th round. Ferdie Pacheco mentioned Frazier as having the greatest quantity of stamina for a heavyweight on the "Greatest Fights Ever" broadcast of the FOTC. Tyson would probably KO the Manilla/Uniondale version of Frazier that lost to Ali in 1975 and Foreman in 1976.
Yes, come to think of it, it was Mitch Green. It was quite some time ago and my memory (failing) probably slipped one by me. My apologies. But during the time it lasted Tyson inflicted maximum damage. By the way, wasn't Mitch Green's nickname 'Blood'?
joe is no Spinks that is for sure...but I don't see him destroying Tyson or stomping on his heart, but I will take joe in 8..Tyson comes up short against another ATG!!!!!!
