That's the only thing Hatton ever had. Had he been less marketable like Ricky Hatton from Mobile, Alabama, and had somehow still managed to get the title shot at Tszyu and had his one good night, he wouldn't have gotten the gift decision against Collazo and would have become the pub fighter he always has been.
Dude is down n out. No need for cats to keep kickin him. He's a good fighter, he just lost 2 outta 3 in his biggest fights.
He's not a pub fighter for pete's sake. He knocked out Castillo with a body shot, defeated Urango, Maussa, Tszyu, Malinaggi, and Collazo. He just lost to a superior fighter.
I agree. Beating Tszyu was a great accomplishment. I think he had a style which aged quickly like Tyson's. After he was knocked out by Mayweather he went down quite a bit. He should not have fought Floyd at welterweight, that was too big an disadvantage for Ricky. Then after that knockout loss he was not the same fighter and Pacman knocks him out in two. It was a good win for Pacman, but I think Floyd helped him out.
Exactly, that Castillo left hook was incredibly good. That left hook to Maussa' chin was also immense. It keeps nagging me, but his aggressive style supplemented by a healthy lifestyle outside of the ring would have added a lot more to his treasure.
Agreed. Not only would it have added to his peak, but it would have enhanced that. It would have made him stronger, even at his best. Not enough to beat Mayweather or Pacquiao, but enough to impress much more so in defeat.
