Can anyone of you Bumlovkinites give one good *legitimate* reason why Mayweather should fight Bumlovkin? Just ONE?

    I can think of lots of reasons why Mayweather shouldn't waste his time. Reasons like;

    • Mayweather has already beaten better fighters
    • Bumlovkin is not a draw
    • Bumlovkin isn't even the champion in his own division
    • Bumlovkin hasn't beaten anyone of note
    • Mayweather can make more money elsewhere
    • If [WHEN] Mayweather beats Bumlovkin, Mayweather's critics
will accuse him of beating a guy who never beat anyone
    • Mayweather is *40* and has never fought a 160lb'er
    • Beating Bumlovkin does absolutely nothing for Mayweather's legacy

So, given the above, can any of the resident Bumlovkinites give a compelling *legitimate* reason for Mayweather to fight Bumlovkin?

Why not just put it in one of the other threads on the 1st page saying the same thing?

Cuz ppl are not quite sure who would win between the 2. Mayweather vs Berto was a hell of alot more pointless a fight than Floyd v GGG woule be.

Because people just want any chance they can get to see money may loose. He could come back at 50 years old get beat and everybody say he finally got exposed.

We've already seen Mayweather in these types of fights before. Mayweather Corrales, Mayweather Mosley, Mayweather de la Hoya and Mayweather Pacquiao immediately come to mind. Corrales, Mosley, de la Hoya and Pacquiao are all ATGs or first ballot HOF'ers. Bumlovkin isn't in that class...

Thats your opinion, im honestly not sure, But either way alot of people wont share your belief in Floyd this time, some will and some will be like me. But thats the reason why it wouldnt be a bad thing if they did. Cuz usually everybody knows Floyds guna win before the fight has even started. Thats why they were so desperate for the Pacman fight. For once ppl wernt so sure.

Dont get me wrong Floyd has done his career and his legacy and as much as he annoys me he has done it all and doesnt need to prove anything to anybody anymore so he can face who he likes. Taking on GGG would be a massive task and very brave of him but he should not have anybody pressuring him to take that fight.

No, that's NOT an opinion. That is a FACT. Go back and check the odds. Mayweather Corrales was a pick em fight. Corrales was even the betting favorite, IIRC. Lots of credible people in boxing picked Mosley to beat Mayweather. The same is true to a lesser degree for the de la Hoya and Pacquiao fights. THESE ARE THE UNDENIABLE FACTS.

Mayweather has been in 50/50 fights before - so this is not a legitimate reason to see a Mayweather Bumlovkin fight....

Almost no-one is asking for this fight anyway, and anyone who is probably shouldn't be taken seriously. When FMJ still held a JMW title , there was at least a case that could be made for the fight at 154, but even then the only people actually pushing for it were the most dedicated Floyd haters.

However, if Floyd will keep bringing up GGGs name, this fight will be talked about. Not much point starting a thread over it though. Never gonna happen. Never was, never will.

Sorry i meant the bit about GGG no being in that class. Im not saying Floyd has spent his whole career picking easy ones. He has been in some huge fights.

But saying that he did spent alot of his career being a picky, sneaky underhanded half chicken. Just not all of it.

There's absolutely no point in a Golovkin / Mayweather fight.

If the limit is 160 GGG will put him in the morgue.

If the limit is 154 GGG will put himself in the morgue trying to make weight.

They're different weight classes; I don't see this happening.

Bumlovkin isn't in the same class as Corrales, Mosley, de la Hoya and Pacquiao. Those guys are all ATGs or first ballot HOF'ers. Bumlovkin ISN'T.

    Stop smoking the crack...

Floyd is a (super) welterweight, so he shouldn't fight GGG.

Floyd should have fought welterweight kingpins Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito, and Kostya Tszyu; and also superwelterweight kingpins Erislandy Lara, Sergio Martinez, and Winky Wright. Floyd actually called out Winky in 2005, but then chickened out and fought Sharmba Mitchell instead.
