I came up with David Estrada(5 yrs my junior, but he was in the gym at 8 y/o) and Jose Luis Rivera, and while neither became titlists, both gave us back home a ton to be proud of, even in defeat. Wish David could got Cintron outta there. He coulda got that Suarez fight and brought home the IBF title.
Blizz my brotha, Ali was a cooked goose by those stages. The Don King mob made Spinks lose that bout the 2nd time. Everybody knows this. As much as I admire Ali ,the truth is the truth. Just like what Pacquiao is doing today, Ali was doing back in the late 70s early 80s, fighting for whatever little money could be squeezed out of him.
Maybe true but I think Spinks went and partied his winnings - not coming into the second anywhere near fighting shape
Kelly Brookbackmountain, not much of a hit because he arguably lost but he was a p4p killer for years after his 1 decent win. Every other time he stepped up he got brutal hidings
Tomas Molinares . Was 23 - 0 20 ko when he ko Marlon Starling after the bell to win WBA title. After he suffered from severe depression and abandoned the title . In subsequent 2 fights he was ko twice in comeback's.
My dads cousin matthew took tony oakys 0 and his WBU LHW title and after that he was beat by Carl froch and Thomas ulrich and he was British level so that was his 1 hit wonder really
When did he have his "hit"? I see him as being talented, but overrated and over hyped. Don't recall him getting past any of his biggest challenges (Maidana, Mayweather, Lopez, Collazo, Berto). Had a uneventful career, and never a big win in my opinion...
