    This one is a doozy.

Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito II - 12 rounds @ light middleweight for Cotto's WBA title

Brandon Rios vs. John Murray - 12 rounds @ lightweight for Rios' WBA title

Pawel Wolak vs. Delvin Rodriguez II - 10 rounds @ light middleweight

Mike Jones vs. Sebastian Lujan - 12 rounds @ welterweight for IBF #1 contender spot

    :scaredas:

All for the modest price of $54.95 ($64.95 for Hi-Def)

This would seem to be worth any boxing fan's money on the surface. Unfortunately, times are tough and many people face the proposition of buying their fourth big-ticket PPV in as many months (with Mayweather-Ortiz in September, Dawson-Hopkins in October and Pacquiao-Marquez III in November). That's well over $200 - closer to $250 for those who want the HD experience.

There is also a very good card being put on by Showtime the very same night, which should provide some measure of competition (although it's hard to imagine more than a slim minority choosing to see the bantamweights live rather than just waiting to catch up with them on DVR if an option).

Is this one final big show worth the expenditure to be seen "the proper way", as 2011 goes out with a bang...or are you pinching pennies for the upcoming holidays? Or have you just capped off your annual boxing budget on general principle, having already been bled dry for what amounted to too many disappointments?

...OR, are you counting the Roy Jones vs. Max Alexander internet-only deal a week later on December 10th ($10 to watch on Ustream) as the year's true PPV finale? :think ...and are you actually going to pay for it?

I would have... BUT the Cotto-Margarito fight will be stopped early as soon as Margarito's right eye starts to show damage. No one - not the commission nor the ringside doctor - will risk their reputation for letting a man go blind. Make no mistake, even a moderate amount of punishment will render Margarito's right eye blind.

I'm guessing that they approved the license with the internal agreement that Margarito is on a very, very short leash (too bad this isn't an Angulo fight where the leash thingie would have fallen in just perfectly). This way, they can save a man's eye AND keep the revenue in New York City.

We will all be disappointed - at least w/ the main event. The fight won't go past 4 rounds.

I'd pay to watch Cotto do bag work (non HD).

"Bah. Humbug. **** boxing. You wouldn't catch me dead supporting it. If you did, it would mean my corpse had been corpse-napped - and who knows what else those degenerate freaks would have been doing with it!"
