I went For Morales slightly on bias and slightly on the fact that i love the fact he left everything of himself in every fight (which probally proved his downfall) But Barrera is one of the most intelligent fighters to ever step in to the ring the way he changed his style to prolong his career, The Mental toughness to come back after the Pacquaio beating and beat Morales again its a close one but one things for certain these 2 men gave us so many thrills and excitement there places are secure as ATGS.
Longevity = Barrera. Primes = Morales. Speed = Even for the most part tho Erik had an edge at 122 when both were at their fastest. Power = Even. In-fighting = Barrera. Distance boxing = Morales. Chin = Morales. Heart = Morales. Feet = Morales. I thought fights 1 & 3 were even fights & they got 1 each so thats evened out. I thought EM won the 2nd fight clearly by taking 8 rds. Morales is a top 3 ATG fighter at 122, Barrera is not. Both were great at FWT, Morales starting slower & finishing stronger at the weight... MAB starting with a bang then losing steam towards the end, its a pick em even tho Erik clearly beat him at this weight. 130 lbs is another 50/50... EM lost by KO twice at the end to Pac but that was the end for him period - nothing to do with the 130 limit - MAB`s best & only significant win was a debatable win over Morales, he lost also to JMM & Pac. Morales beat Pac, Hernandez & Chavez. Barrera beat Naz but its significant that Morales never got the chance to fight Naz, its unlikely Naz beats Morales anyway. Junior Jones & Pac are PROOF that Morales can beat men that beat Barrera. All in all, it is close but Morales is better, Im as certain as can of this considering how close it is between them, Ive seen almost all fights of both men. :thumbsup
they are both all time greats. I definitely like Morales more but it doesn't mean he's better than Barrera
