The 'coach' asks you and a partner, to both stand on one leg, one guy has to bunny hop on his one leg to jab you, and you have to hop on one leg while trying to slip the jab. They make you switch roles half way through the round.

What has this to do with Boxing? And more importantly is this a pointless waste of time? cause I see no point in it techniquewise, unless you are trying to fight like a Jacky Chan movie. :patsch

Please give me your feedback, cause I went to a gym for casual training and they told me to do that. And yes, it is a boxing gym. There's a bunch of runts there acting hard.

Is this drill a joke or do they seriously expect people to go into the ring, and evade for three minutes on one leg? I've never seen a fighter slip/weave on one leg. What the hell ?

Might be good for balance and definitely is good for endurance/strenght but the "sparring" aspect seems utterly pointless.
Wont it like teach you bad habits and bad technique ?
In my gym we kinda bunny hopped while crouching and we just threw punches. It was a real workout for the legs.
What you described, to me seems ******ed.

It sounds like he just has you do it for his own entertainment, because I'll bet you guys look ridiculous doing it.

Beats the hell out of me. Seems like you'd be using more core muscles to achieve this, rather than just sort of effortlessly shifting weight onto a different foot.

That doesn't make any sense to me. I think a lot of guys trying to teach boxing make stuff up to make themselves seem more credible. That may be okay, because that is how good , new ideas come about. On the other hand, it cannot be fun to be on the testing side of some of the ones that don't work.

Well I can attest that pistol squats work but this sounds like a cruel ritual of some sort lol...
