    Good point THN

I have respect for those fans who stick to their favorite fighter and backs him up, even though have a lousy fight or get a loss!

Case in point: There was a time when Alexis Arguello was 3-2, and had been stopped already. There was also a time when Arguello was 23-3, had been stopped twice, and most of his opponents were bar tenders and bag ladies. Arguello is the ultimate example of the fact that a few losses don't mean much.

The guy in my avatar, one of my all time favorites, had 3 losses before he even sniffed a world title. He went on to rule at 126 for nearly 4 years, and beat the likes of Olivares, O'Grady, Gomez, Hafey, Kotey X 2, Malvarez, Castanon, and Ayala. It took one Salvador Sanchez 13 rounds to dethrone him. Another fine example of how a few losses don't mean as much as some people try to claim they do.

Indeed, the ''one loss and you're a can'' mnetality is really hurting boxing.
