One man's top ten p4p.

    1. Floyd Mayweather - Since the downfall of pacman I feel this is incontestable. Top 100 of all time at the moment, could be top 50 depending on his next 6 fights. If 3 of the other 5 were wins over Andre Ward, Sergio Martinez and Canelo and he stopped even one of them then candidate for #1 all time.

    2. Juan Manuel Marquez - Has been involved in most of the best fights I, as a boxing aficionado of around 8 years, have viewed. And he's won more than half against some of the best fighters I have seen.

    3. Sergio Martinez - Now in my opinion numbers 2,3 and 4 on this list are pretty much interchangeable, My choice of Maravilla above Andre Ward is solely based on personal opinion, I like Martinez because he wins stylishly and has a pretty good habit of knocking his opponents the **** out.

    4. Andre Ward - Great fighter, Great Guy. It will be interesting to see what fights are out there for Ward. Froch/Kessler winner, who'll be on this list, or cleaning up a sparse LH division. Something crazy like going up to heavyweight or down to middleweight and winning big fights would could make him one of the best historically speaking.

    5. Nonito Donaire - Yet to have the big fight to really catapult him to the top, but if he Ko's Rigondeaux and fights Mares he would have to be a contender at the very top.

    6. Vitali Klitschko - Can't see any heavyweight beating him, and as for knocking him out, it's not going to happen. If it does it'll be the body breaking down, not the punch resistance.

    7. Wladimir Klitschko - See #6 above possibly minus the knockout bit substitute punch resistance for defense.

    8. Carl Froch - A win over Kessler and a rematch with Ward, if he equips himself well would put him in the hall of fame, in my opinion, and stand him as one of the best British boxers of the modern era. You may disagree, but for me this is a sentimental choice given the quality of his opponents and wins, and the huge amount of entertainment and sheer guts he has displayed.


    9. Manny Pacquiao - Maybe nearing the end but as far as I'm concerned he beat Bradley and got knocked out by a fantastic fighter. Until he is beaten by someone outwith the class of his prime, then he is still one of the best fighters in the world.

    10. Bernard Hopkins - In any weight class a guy like this has a chance to beat any fighter. I find it hard to exclude someone I regard as an all time great from this list, his age means fights can be lost against exceptional talents, but I will never count him out.

    Thoughts?

    And what's other folks rankings? This is just a bit of fun so y'know, if your going to be negative and take the pish, please be funny about it.

    never a big fan of martinez. i feel like he's made the most of his opportunities, but i'd rate andre ward higher

    rating froch that high just isn't realistic (not being a hater). froch is a limited fighter who has made the best of his opportunities

    EDIT : froch deserves respect but not even top 25 for me

    You have Vitali ahead of Wlad? To have Vitali in the top 10 at all is ludicrous. Hopkins beat Cloud but lost to Dawson. He shouldn't be in there either. 1-5 are interchangeable though. But having Froch ahead of Pac? So let me get this straight. Pac, who was around number 2 p4p before he got knocked out by JMM and beat Bradley, who was around number 7 p4p, goes down to number 9 and below Froch.. yet Froch, who wasn't ranked at all and lost to Ward, who's number 2 now, beat Bute who was ranked around 11 or 12, and now is number 8? Take Froch, Hopkins, and Vitali out and add Vilora, Mares, and Bradley.

    3 time world champion baby, he just beat a top rated & undefeated champion in Lucian Bute and has one of the deepest resume in the whole game. He reached the finals in the Super 6 boxing tournament and his loss against Kessler was razor close.

    Now **** off.

    what you meant to say was...

    has never been the best in his division, so he's never been a legit "world champion"

    got beaten by the number 1 and 2 SMW in the world, which puts him at 3 in his division, never mind P4P

    "reached the finals" in the super six courtesy of injuries


    try to reply with a little confidence and pretend i'm standing infront of you this time ;)

    EDIT : bute showed how far an ordinary fighter can go holding a paper strap (just like froch has held).nobody will hear from bute on the world stage again, or remember him

    Not bad. I'd have Pacquaio a bit higher, above Froch and Vitali anyway, Vitali wouldn't make my list I don't think with few big wins to talk of recently in a bad division. I know Broner gets a lot of criticism on here but I'd have him in there too I think. I agree that Martinez, JMM and Ward are fairly interchangable, Donaire is entering that bracket too, I think if he beats Rigo well then the case could be made for putting him above the three of them until they fight again.

    Edit: I wouldn't have Hopkins in there either, fantastic achievements but is a titlist at his weight by beating an comparatvely average fighter: a great achievement as acknowledged but not enough to get top 10 P4P at the present moment ahead of the likes of Vilora, Mares, Broner, Bradley etc. in my opinion

    Come on Sam you can't really have Froch not in the top 25 don't be silly. He has one of the strongest resume's in boxing and has only lost to the top 2 in the division (one of them being Ward who is in most people's top 3 P4P)

    how can you rate Ward so highly if you think Froch isn't all that, considering Froch is one of Wards best wins..
