There are a number of things that Usyk is much better at than Fury. Professionalism, focus during training, sticking to a game plan and being laser focused during the fight. If they were the same size, Usyk wins any day of the week. Only reason why I’m even picking Fury is his massive size advantage, speed and a good, but not comparable skill set.
This was a grudge match..both hated each other coming in...we paid to see blood and they delivered. Best 80 bucks I have ever spent. Had a room full of clueless casuals who are all now boxing fans.
he's 33 years old, has been inactive for a year and a half, and shape wise very much looked it on both counts. but no doubting that he's still the best around. he needs to unify the belts over his next 2-3 fights and then get out.
Give me a break. Fury shouldn't be able to do at least half of what he does at that size. He uses his size, sure, but he also defies it. He's an unprecedented absurdity in the sport. He's the more versatile and complete fighter, much smarter than the Usyk cult (and I'm targeting the cult, not the man) will ever give him credit for, and it will show.
If he was fit and motivated then it would've been. Or rather - it bloody well should've been easy work. Fury's his own worst enemy sometimes.
There were a number of bitter, jealous Usyk cultists picking against Fury and now preying on the loss of 2-3 rounds (one of those a scouting round and the other a partial recovery round after hitting the deck twice in the prior session) in an otherwise dominant showing after twenty months out. You don't see that kind of behavior from me. (I picked Usyk to beat Joshua — inside the distance, no less — commended him and never begrudged him an ounce of his deserved success.) Some of us actually have some honor, unlike you dogs, and you know who you are.
I think the only thing Tyson done wrong was his weight .. 20lbs less and that's his perfect fighting weight .. still pulled it out the bag .. Tyson was in great condition for his 2nd fight with Wilder ...
That was probably Wilder at his best. We all know he is very limited. Both have been inactive, Fury has has had Covid, family issues, probably took Wilder lightly too & it showed. Fury’s conditioning was not great, but his stamina was amazing. I’m not a fan of Wilder at all but he showed guts & credit to him for that…….let’s hope he is more sporting than he has been, cuts out the lame excuses & BS.
He stepped up after Round 5. Before then he looked vulnerable. It shows he has a good boxing brain, can adjust on the fly and has different plans he can switch to. Wilder on the other hand looked confused as soon as Fury figured him out by stopping Wilder's early body attack. Different levels.
