That was a barnburner of all barnburners. What a fight. The scorecards were **** and the fight was razor-close, but, hopefully they'll do it again. Props to Carl for overcoming the odds and props to Leo for fighting his ass off. What a fight.
This is the kind of fight that keeps me a boxing fan. Sometimes it gets frustrating with all of the posturing and politics, but, when a fight like this comes along and you believe it's going to be great and it even exceeds your expectations there's nothing like it. There's no greater sporting moment than two guys throwing leather in true professional fashion. It is miraculous.
Both the Thurman v Porter fight and now this has just backed up what we already knew and that is genuine 50/50 fights come up with the goods. So many pointless mismatches,boxing will be ok if it sticks to quality.
Will have to watch the fight again and actually score round by round but 117-111 was silly. I can see 116-112 but neither of those scores how competitive the fight was.
