    Yup, you read that right.

I've watched it a few times now, and I think it's incredible. It's been a long time since I've seen a top drawer fighter - which is what Cotto is - so completely broken. Look at the way Margarito advances upon Miguel right behind the first knock-down. That's the same way Margarito had been advancing upon him all night. Steadily and into range, impossible to discourage or hurt all heart and guts an absolute ******* to share a ring with. He doesn't have world class footwork. He isn't the best puncher in the game. His skills are - wait for it - B level. But he's an A-1 Nightmare brought to life in the ring.

I don't expect Margarito to go unbeaten. I don't think he will set the world alight. He's on the fringes of my p4p 10, and I don't expect him to climb much higher. He's there to be hit and he's already been beaten by one of the top fighter's in his division.

But against Cotto, a mobile puncher with all the tools in the box and the mentality and heart to deliver them with bad intentions, he was absolutley brilliant. Forced a macho heart fighter onto his knees without a punch.

    Great, great, great performance.

I agree, Sat. was a classic performance.
    (Has Leonard-Hearns I seen it's closest rival? )

Margarito had always wanted a big fight and when he got it he would not be denied. Despite been picked of by Cotto early on he kept going forward and would not back down.

Its a strange one because I still have Cotto in my top ten P4P and Margarito lower than him at #11. Maybe Tony deserves a higher placing, **** I dont know, Im still in shock at the fight. I reallly never gave Marg a chance.

    What a fighter.

Margo's chin was better than I thought. Could of swore Cotto would crack it, after landing at will so much early on in the fight.

Margarito will go down in history as one of those guys that the very best in the 147lb division talk about behind closed doors years later. The guy they all have had nightmares about.

Great fight. Thoroughly enjoyed it. To see someone like Cotto be bullied is unreal. Margarito proved how hungry he is. Unfortunately for him, this is probably the very summit of his career.

The most shocking part of all, is I actually called this fight spot on!!!!

Absolutely agree, and one of the ATG chin performances in a big fight. There was a moment in the first round when Cotto tagged Margarito cleanly, and on the jumbotron I saw Margarito smile and keep coming.

The most compelling aspect of that performance to me is that it appeared Margarito could have kept coming for 20 rounds. Not only did he not stop, he didn't even slow down.

I agree with you, McGrain, on his PfP place probably getting cemented in the lower top 10. He's relatively easy to figure out, it's just a matter of having the skills and stamina to deal with him. Williams managed to do it, and I suspect Mayweather would defeat him rather easily.

Regardless, though, that performance ushers him into the pantheon of legendary Mexican fighters.
