I still consider myself more of a boxing fan than an MMA fan, but it is obvious why boxing is suffering with guys like mayweather hyping up **** fights that would hardly pass as an exciting sparring session.:deal

    Not comparable.

Two ATG p4p stars in the same weight class fighting almost at their peak. Silva vs GSP somebody would be not at their peak. As they wouldn't be in their weight class.

Pac vs Floyd not happening is a travesty.

Oh yeah, he is 100% right. Boxing gives you a main event and a **** undercard. The undercard is prospects vs journeyman. The prospect is going through the motions maybe picking up 1 bit of useful experience like going the distance and the journeyman is there for a payday. The journeyman has no win bonus, no ko bonus, no fight of the night bonus etc

Champs aren't unifying. IBO, IBA, WBF, Ring belt...

Generally, the UFC do give the fans what they want. GBP and Top Rank failed to give us Pac vs Floyd, failed to give us Khan vs Maidana until there is becoming no other option, etc etc

That's not a bad comparison except that GSP and Anderson Silva are fighting in different weight classes. Pac and Mayweather are both welterweights capable of fighting junior middleweight - but barely. That's only a seven pound difference between the two at most. GSP is 170 while Silva is 185 and regularly fights at 205 lbs. That's 15 lb weight advantage to Silva who is used to fighting bigger men. So there's a legitimate reason that fight hasn't been made because most think Silva would slaughter GSP in brutal fashion.

That looks like a real press interview there. Nice fake background. The UFC are getting pretty good at editing these days. First a slim James Toney now fake press interviews. Thanks for being objective and telling us what we already know ( By the way this video's old ). Floyd feels threatened by MMA aye? Yeah suuuuuuuuuure he does Dana. Thats why you gave us Toney Vs Couture right?

Anderson Silva would ruin GSP. That's why White won't make that fight yet.

talent wise yes but as far as size advantage, silva is just too big. GSP is known as a big welterweight but he is considered small if he goes up to middleweight. Anderson silva would have the size advantage and i believe he would smashed GSP into pieces if they fought at 185.

Same way Pac is considered small at WW. GSP could probably move up and beat some top MWs who are not ATGs like Pac did with Cotto and Clottey, but then people would still expect GSP to lose to Silva because of the size difference the same way they do with Pac vs Floyd. Its no different.

For the record I think both GSP and Pac beat Silva and Floyd. The comparison is very similar actually. The main difference is that GSP hasn't made the move up to MW yet and that Silva would probably just take the fight if he did.

Dont know man. I think GSP can maintain top position on Silva just like Sonnen did. He may not be as strong as Chael but I see him doing more damage on top.

LOL at you agreeing with Dana and his completely fake press conference. This was before Marquez-Mayweather which was going head to head with a UFC PPV. Dana insulted Marquez and the intelligence of MMA/boxing fans (except for the TS). The people voted with their money that night.

Nonsense, Anderson fought as low as 168 years ago and GSP cuts a lot of weight to get down to 170. If Akyama and a bunch of other undersized Japanese fighters can fight at 185 why can't the 'p4p' best do it?

This fight is exactly the same as Pac-Mayweather, but the fans are not going ape **** over it because 'uncle' Dana has told us that its not important. GSP is already set to face the same guys he easily beat a few years ago. Besides Shields, who can also fight at 185, there is nothing for GSP at 170.

GSP needs to man up and demand the fight and the UFC needs to promote the biggest fight in MMA history. They already blew it with Fedor vs Couture/Brock, Chuck vs W.Silva when it mattered and many other fights. Now they can't even get their own contracted fighters to face each other. An easy way to get GSP to step up is offer him the fair share he would deserve from what would be a record making UFC event. But we know that the UFC doesn't operate this way, and now this fight has already lost a lot of its luster with Silva's last performance.

Pac-Floyd will happen next year, this fight won't.

In fairness it's Dana thats always talking about boxing and to me it's because he feels threatned and he tries to put boxing down at every opportunity.
