completely agree and also when he was cut he didnt really panic. And then the surgeon went to work.

Its as if Marquez gets better as he gets older. I knew JMM would ko Juan Diaz, I got a scare tho when Diaz caught Marquez with the left hook in round 3 and wobled him, but JM chin stood up to Diaz's power and he took Diaz's best shots. Big win for Marquez !

great fight. one of the best fights ive seen. was worried for a few rounds when diaz was really on him. but just looking at marquez you could tell that he wasnt fazed at all. he was facing a lot of pressure and had a cut. marquez is mentally strong, i wish other fighters would be as strong as him mentally. diaz fought a hell of a fight too, marquez was just better.

I agree that Marquez was amazing. My jaw hit the floor when I seen the uppercut that ended the fight, absolutely beautiful. Marquez's heart, skills and power were just sensational.

However, with reference to the thread-title, I wouldn't quite say this was one of the greatest performances I've ever seen because I thought Marquez's defence was a little too open and sloppy for the first few rounds. Had he been in there with a hard-hitting lightweight, he could have had some real trouble on his hands.

I think JMM performed better in the 2nd Pac fight. He can defend better than he did last night. But that's my only criticism. All round, it was a ****ing magnificent showing.

I know. It's his mental strength that played just as important a role as his boxing skills. He could've easily given up around the 6th when it looked like he might gas from the pressure. He's got the heart of a warrior.

And he will get it. There's no way another fight will top this one, especially given the significance of the fight and the caliber of opponents.

I'm still in shock. I never thought Marquez could KO either Casamayor and Diaz, although I picked him to beat both. For for the second time in a few month, he scored an unexpected, spectacular knockout in a weight class clearly not his best. He beat PacMan on my card, then The Ring, lineal world lightweight champion, by knockout, and The Ring no1 LW Diaz, by knockout, so he should be ranked P4P no1, but I don't care about this that much.

His adaptability is just as good as Calzaghe's was. He learns, adjusts and choses the right defensive and offensive moves and weapons. This performance is up there with Hopkins-Pavlik and Mosley-Margarito, although much more competitive, but also more exciting.

    Marquez has mind blowing uppercuts.

I had said from the very start that if the fight was competitive, which it was, Marquez would find it a difficult task to get out of there with a decision if it went the distance.
.....and I was absolutely correct......I gave Diaz the first two rounds, the first of which could very well have been scored even.....but from there, I'm hard pressed to find Diaz winning another round......yet the judges had it even at the point of stoppage!:-(

I know why the fight was fought in Houston, but this fight could just as easily been fought in Los Angeles, where the judges would'nt have been under the pressure of a home crowd rooting Diaz on.

False.1 judge had it even.Another had JMM 2 points up.The other had Diaz 2 points up.Can't even make a case for why he had Diaz 2pts up but I guess it is academic as JMM got the KO
