TBF i would look at whoever appointed Ian John Lewis in the first place to officiate this matchup. Judging a fighters condition is the worst part of his game, getting him to officiate an Enzo Macc fight was foolish at best. IJL has to consider that Enzo doesnt take a shot none to well anymore, couple that with Lewis' habit of jumping in early anyway and well we saw the results yesterday.
What sucks the most was this actually was entertaining, it looked like some good two way traffic and could have been a dramatic fight I dont know why the ref stopped, the last few exchanges Enzo sat on the ropes covered then fired, same here Enzo also didnt do any of the tell tale signs like buckle or have his gloves go down then up bad stoppage worse than any i have seen recently, i mean at least when Calzaghe stopped Manfredo it was like 20 punches not 4
by the refs dumb logic, de la hoya stopped mayweather, when he had him against the ropes. i think the ref looks embarassed after, and so he should, shameful
Why couldn't the ref have just back pedalled and given him a standing 8 count when he saw he was alright? British refereeing is a disgrace to boxing. If I was a foreign fighter I'd never risk fighting in Britain
i think the worst is how he handled it, he broke em up didnt wave anything off inspected him for like 10 seconds and then stopped it as if to justify or just go thru with what he was already starting
Didn't he get KTFO on the Khan v Barerra undercard? Anyways, punched out 5 different times in the past.... Terrible decision, but our fighter was once again on the ropes covered up and taking shots.
Regardless of whether Enzo has a awful chin or not that was incompetent refereeing by IJL, ****ing awful. Enzo wasn't hurt and it was warming up to be a good fight.
LMAO i just found out he reffed the briggs vitali fight... damn I could do a better job then this fool
he should of said the ropes held him up. saved a fight and maccas chances. this is a sort of half reason why the standing count can/should be called. to stop refs fcking up. from the side replay it did look like enzo was taking a battering, then son as he appeared form his gloves he was fine.
That was even worse than the Calzaghe Manfredo stoppage, but with IJL I don't know why anyone is remotely surprised.
