I've been watching Usyk's WSB fights and boy his fight vs Nistor was a tough one for Usyk.... Nistor is an awkward aggressive southpaw kept coming forward and even had Usyk in a bit of trouble in the 3rd round landing some flush punches even cutting Usyk which I'm not used to seeing. I had the fight 2-2 going into the 5th but Usyk gritted his teeth and won the 5th round to win a tough fight. If anyone hasn't seen it I recommend watching it. It's a rare case of Usyk in a close fight. This content is protected
Nistor was a quality amateur. He stopped AJ in the amateurs and beat Clemente Russo in the WSB. It’s too bad his pro career didn’t go very far. He could been a good cruiser if he got in shape.
Nistor was the only man to have won a round off him in WSB, and he came out guns blazing in the fourth. Had Usyk not stolen the round in the last minute, it would have been 2-2, but Uysk being Usyk, he made sure to step it up and clinch it before it got to the fifth. Early example of how Usyk knows that game clock like no other in the business. Also has a great amatuer win over Joshua, as I pointed out in a thread about him: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/its-a-shame-nistor-doesnt-have-more-going-on-as-a-pro.731718/ This content is protected But as our CST80 pointed out in that thread, he's done **** all as a pro.
