I'd love to see Aaron Pryor or Chavez Sr. around, because it would be awesome to see them take on the guys at 140 & 147. (Yeah, Pryor wasn't a welter and chavez wasn't a good welter, but considering most of the top welters are on the small side, it would be great to see either at 140 or 147). Pryor-Pacquiao! Chavez-Pacquiao! Pryor-Mayweather! Those would be some fights to see.
126 - Salvador Sanchez... Imagine Sanchez vs Gamaboa, Salido, John, Gonzales, and maybe Donaire, and Rigo if they moved up. 135 - De Jesus... some great matches, one vs Marquez 140 - Pryor - puts Khan out 130 - Arguello - puts Broner out 122 - Morales - take out Donaire out of the top 10 rankings and never letting Rigo enter the top 10 p4p 118 - Zarate 115 - Too Sharp Johnson 108 - Ricardo Lopez 112 - Pancho Villa 105 - Alvarez 147 - Napoles - Would give May his second loss. 154 - Benitez - Out boxing and stopping all opposition at 154 including Canelo 160 - Hearns - vs Chavez Jr. and Martinez? ! 168 - LaMotta - To stop Ward, and Bute (for his second time) 175 - Jacky Lopez - To give Hopkins the fight of his life 200 - Ezzard Charles Heavy - Norton
To be honest, that was the first name that sprung to mind. Others: Pernell Whitaker Gatti (for sheer entertainment) Corrales (for sheer entertainment) Hagler Hearns Duran Leonard Tyson (to clean out the **** we have today) Arguello Pryor Hamed (entertainment, again) Ali Frazier Foreman Kenny Norton Larry Holmes ....the list is endless...
HW-Bowe CW-Holy LHW-Qawi SMW-Gman MW-Jackson LMW-McCallum WW-Cuevas LMW-Locche :yep LW-Duran SFW-Arguello FW-Pep BW/SBW- Hamed FW- Wilde
I thought about that one. My Dad reckons he's pretty much one of the UKs greatest fighters ever, I agree. Chris Eubank is a good call. Father Wigley also agrees on that one (well, he did on the phone a month ago).
Your FW choice is exemplary, as I pondered this question initially, Wilde's name came to mind. I don't agree with your SMW choice (I'd have Benn in there), everything else is solid.:goodNice one, friend.
I am not saying that Benn was the greatest middle weight ever, but he would certainly bring some cracking fights to the division, can you imagine Benn vs Froch, to warriors. Or Benn VS Ward.... heart and agression against class and speed. I would be skint with all the PPV fees
Thanks, buddy. To add a few more: Julio Cesar Chavez Evander Holyfield Edwin Valero (entertainment not close to Gatti, but not far off) Nigel Benn Chris Eubank Riddick Bowe Willie Pep Ray Robinson (that kid was ****ing brilliant) - I can't believe this wasn't the top of my list!!!! Stupid Wigley. Barry McGuigan (yeah, it'll get laughed at, this, but I loved (no homo) that bloke when I was 8, growing up cutting my boxing teeth. The Cruz fight made me cry like a ****ing baby. When he walked out in the 13th, kid was dead.
This^ the PPV thing, is what we stand for. We would rather not eat than miss a big scrap, I often starve my missus so I can watch the big fights or buy the DVDs. Benn was awesome. You should read his book; he's a touch big-headed, talking of conquests in the bedroom as opposed to those in the ring, but it's a good read for his fight stories. If you haven't got a copy of either The Manly Art or Four Kings by George Kimball, then that's your next shopping outing. Nice one Keian, Wig:good
Mike Didnt KO everyone he fought. Haye could run all night like Mitch Green. Helenius is an iron chinned guy who knows how to keep his opponent tight to reduce the power on their shots. Vitali, today, wouldn't trouble Mike, except maybe tired him out over the rounds. Wlad, well, if his chin issues are behind him, could frustrate and hurt Mike faster than Douglas did. I'd like to see Ali. From either 65-67, or 71-74. He had alternating styles then, and came back a bit more elusive than when he had left. In these days of questionable stoppages, Ali would get his fair share.
