Australian Boxing has been at an all time low for some years now...and last nights disgrace may be the final nail in the Coffin.!!!!

u supported the ferguson circus, yet give lip to others.

u go on about the mundine/green cancer in oz boxing, yet u r GUILTY of paying for it yourself, pmsl.

 

I get to the pub early purely because I wanna see Bilal Akkawy's bout, I had more interest in this bout than the main bout. Instead of seeing that, I get to watch hours worth of bouts that I have no interest in.

It wouldn't have bothered me that the main bout was disappointingly stopped due to an injury, but why the f^^^ did I have to sit through a Blake Ferguson bout? Nobody had any interest in this bout and it made me feel like an idiot that I was sitting through it.

And starting a card at 7.30 and finishing it up at near to midnight? Does Khoder Nasser not know that people work on Thursdays? The whole card should take three hours tops. If I was to pay to watch a card like this I'd be far happier seeing two or three hours worth of quality boxing as opposed to 4.5 hours of uninteresting bouts with the exception of one or two. I'd pay extra to not have to see ferguson fight.

Australian boxing is more of a joke than the NBL. The people who control the sport clearly aren't listening to the fans and don't care what they think. If they're making quality money they're happy.

And on a side note, just because Green knocked RJJ out in the first doesn't mean it was a farce. Roy was past his prime but he was only losing to the likes of Calzaghe and Tarver. And he looked awesome against Jeff Lacy and because of that bout the vast majority of posters in this forum would have picked RJJ to whoop Green.

 

YDKSAB. Awesome against Lacy google Lacy tears left rotator cuff. Lacy and Sheika were shot as. Lacy was a 1 armed fighter.

 

He tore his rotator cuff against Vitaliy Tsypko. As far as I know he didn't tear it against RJJ.

Regardless I still think RJJ looked awesome against Lacy and I don't think anyone would disagree with me bar you (maybe everyone DKSAB bar you?).

Did you think Green vs RJJ was going to be one-sided in Green's favour? And please answer truefully

I predicted Green KO 11 so no I thought Roy would last alot longer than he did. And yes I know he tore it against Tsypko in the 2nd round and fought on with it(foolishly) but his career was ruined after that(as well as being embarassed and totally dominated every second of every round against Calzaghe). Lacy was shot after that Roys victory over him on cuts wasn't that good IMO.
You can't post lkinks to full articles on this site but you can still search the forum everybody knew Jeff was shot. I watched that fight as well as Greens fight with Dominguez same card and thought even though both their opponents were not much chop Danny looked better than Roy.

Aussie boxing is a bit of a farce I must admit, the commentators don't know their dick from their arsehole, the ring announcers can't pronounce fighters names correctly sometimes even getting their name wrong altogether, shitty entrance music, bad refereeing, bad judging/backhands, some of the trainers/cutmen carry on like've been on crack all day..... ya gotta ****en throw them ****en hooks carnt!!!

 

Mundine can only fight what is in front of him and he dominated like a pro. What happened last night looks bad on Mosely and Golden Boy and not Mundine and Nasser

Thanks for going to the effort of finding the link. But I still think RJJ looked pretty good against Lacy and that Green-RJJ wasn't a farce.

RJJ's next fight was against Hopkins in which he managed to snag a couple of rounds so he couldn't have been completely past it at that point.

 

Mate I don't think Green-RJJ was a farce either. Im just saying though Roy looked impressive fighting Lacy that wasn't the Jeff Lacy pre Calzaghe and rotator cuff injury. He went the distance with Manfredo jr and only scored a MD against Griffin,and lost near on every round against Taylor.

 

Seriously Oz punches above its weight in so many other sports ,producing world beaters all over the place, olympic medals by the truck load etc (given small population)...why is boxing the exception??
