One thing about oscar de la hoya people dont give him enough credit for

Oscar always liked to pick on little guys or guys with no skills to have a sure win:Forbes,Gatti,Manny,Mayorga etc but he was a great fighter in his prime

 

De La Hoya generally gets credit for fighting tough opposition, but Pacquiao being #1 p4p doesn't mean much in terms of this being a good matchup.

DLH fighting a quality fighter at junior middle, or welter at least, that's not p4p rated, would be better (not money wise, just opposition wise).

 

To bad he avoided challenges like the Felix Trinidad rematch, Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, etc. But its not DLHs fault when he can fight a smaller man with bigger name recognition. :yep

 

Name one fighter that doesnt want to fight the #1 p4p?

DLH deserves all the s#it he's been getting for going out like a punk and picking Pac as his last opponent.

BUT, HIs resume prior to PBF was one of the best(if not the) in the business.

And anyone who thinks all boxers don't approach their choice of opponents with the bottom line in mind is naive as hell!
