It's not like Pacquiao has no response for jabs. Just last fight, Pacquiao definitely was hit with a lot of jabs, but Pacquiao also answered a lot of those jabs with some straight lefts and more right hooks. Pacquiao couldn't exactly take Cotto's jab away, because after round 6, the jab was pretty much all Cotto had left, and you could argue that Team Pac's plan was to reduce Cotto to nothing but jabs (you could see Pac pretty much disrespecting Cotto's jabs in the late rounds by simply letting Cotto hit him with jabs and practically ignoring them).

Pac can take away a fighter's jab. Cotto has a better jab than Clottey and you can't just walk forward and throw a jab at Pac cause he can time you, duck under it and counter with a lead left directly on the chin.

Clottey also has 1 TKO/KO in his last 10 fights. And he definitely isn't winning on points.

This shot illustrates how tricky Pacs footwork is. He seemed to make a step, but right before making the step, he shoots with his left. People will say he is off balance but he uses that move to confuse his opponent.

    People are truly underestimating Clottey.
They overestimated Cotto now they have the reverse for Clottey.
But Clottey lies down for no man. I think he can upset Pac more than Cotto could. As you say his main weapon is accuracy. He can fight on the inside and his punches are accurate and crisp. His defence is very good and he just has that SIZE advantage.

It's Clottey's straight right that will troube Pac. Joshua was very accurate in nailing Zab Judah' face with the right hand.

its not the fight I want but pac will deffo have his hands full with Clottey

Clottey is a monster of a welter and as others have said is good with the straights

If he can overcome his tendancy to go into a shell and work hard on cutting off the ring pac could be in bother.

While I agee with you it looks to me like Pacs already moving to the side before Cotto throws the jab there !

clottey shouldnt lead with it... he needs to counter with it... he just needs to walk pacquiaos little ass down and just wait till its open... if he does that.. in 5 rounds pacquiao won't be doing what he normally does just out of discomfort....

plus cotto has no d incomparison to clottey

Clottey's workrate is not good enough for him to stand a chance of beating Pac. I see Clottey quitting or the corner throwing in the towel. He will stand around in his shell defence while Pac will just come in and out with flurries all night long.

First of Pac is not outstanding taking away the jab, Cotto fed him with a lot of crisp lefts hands. Yes, Cotto has a great jab, such a natural punch in his arsenal, however he often overreached with it as - like almost all skills in his arsenal - Evangelista never perfected that shot. Cotto simply made too many mistakes, that's why I picked Pac from day one. Hell lot tougher to pick Pac-Clottey. Still when he used it, Miguel found success with the jab, but was not consistent enough.

With that said, Clottey is not really a jabber and he's technically more sound, more complete fighter than Cotto, so it will be a hell lot different fight, often a chess match where Clottey's jab might be a factor, but with all other punches and his great combination skills. I'd say Cotto has great pure boxing potential but he was never raised as a pure boxer so he's technically flawed, whereas Clottey is a very good natural talent with skills and physical abilities coming together beautifully.
