One thing (or two things) Mayweather has never done...

Floyd mentioned fighting Hamed after the Corrales fight. I don't care much for "calling out" as it means little, fights are made with contracts and lawyers and not with microphones, but I think Floyd wanted to fight Hamed. It would have brought him his biggest purse at the time and a lot of exposure, and most likely a win.

Hamed was comfortable where he was at 126, he was about to face Barrera on PPV and was soundly beaten by him.

 

Khan is MILES away from being "cute defensively". He is not a good defensive fighter.

 

I agree that 'calling out' is essentially meaningless. Hamed said (It was either after the Augie Sanchez or Kevin Kelley fight) that he was comfortable at 126 and was the box office draw so guys like EM, MAB and Floyd could come to 126 if they wanted to make the fights.

 

Agreed, though he seems to be improving somewhat. People tend to assume that conventional boxers with quick hands must also be defensively responsible, not so.

Can you explain to me how Floyd should have fought MAB when Floyd was at 135 from 2002 on and MAB didn't fight above 126 until 2004?

 

Or Winky who was at 154 and 160 when Floyd was at 130 and 135?

 

Floyd has fought some punchers and what you posted would only mean anything if Mayweather had a Glass Jaw which he doesn't. If you want to see an example of a fighter avoiding devastating punchers look at Roy Jones Jr.

 

Brook is unknown and GGG is a Middleweight who's biggest win came recently after an ocean streak of KOs over bums. Even thinking about GGG is a waste of money.

Khan has nothing but speed and speed isn't anything new for Mayweather to deal with considering he's fast himself. Take Khan's speed away and he has absolutely nothing else. His stamina is primitive, his general skills are predictable one twos and his punch resistance is poor. This fight won't even be competitive.

 

Care to name those "devastating" punchers RJJ avoided?

 

The most defensively sound fighter during Mayweather's reign of recent would likely be Clottey but he defense is different, I wouldn't refer to it as genius. As for devastating punchers there weren't any that I can think of. Paul Williams was fierce when he sat on his punches, Margarito was plastered and ready to wreck anyone but who cares about him. Mayweather has fought a very diverse group of competition.

 

When Floyd fought at 140, winky fought at 160 a month later. People still spouting random garbage.

If Floyd beat Tszyu and beat him he would have been accused of ducking Hatton!!

 

There is literally no time in history a Winky/Floyd fight was ever talked about or conceivable.

 

He didn't fight any during his Middleweight,Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, or Heavyweight reigns. I don't have to name them. There isn't one on his resume.
