One thing that I liked about what GG did tonight was

was that he didn't look to bomb Stevens out.

He showed a strong jab, and he was very patient all night. Stevens never hurt him, and was never in the fight. This was a total domination by GG.

GG knew when to push and pull meaning he knew when to use power, and when to use punk punches to open Stevens up. Had GG went to Stevens body earlier, he probably would've got him out of there. GG took some shots, but he knew that Stevens couldn't hurt him. Fighters do that at times. They take a guys shots to unload their own. Very smart by GG.

Good stoppage by Stevens corner. He couldn't reach GG, and he was just taking punishment.

It's about time we see a unification fight. I'm still not sold on GG but this was a good showing for GG. He used the jab to get inside, and that threw Stevens game off.

In the end, Stevens also seemed to under estimate GG's boxing ability. Stevens was just too short, and his arms were just to short to reach GG. He showed heart, but in the end, GG was too much.

Stevens looked too small to compete with GGG. He did better than I expected though and landed some good shots, did really well to survive the 2nd. All in all though golovkin was just a level above him, good stoppage by the corner.

That's what I like about Golovkin, that focused, patient and considered aggression.

The big guy treated the little guy like a little guy. That's what you're supposed to do.

Agreed. He showed intelligence. He boxed. Didn't go all out when he had Stevens hurt. He was calculating. But it was surprising how well he took some of Stevens' punches.

I would have liked to see a better overall approach. His infighting was terrible and makes me think a guy like Ward would use that to his advantage. Decent win. Hard to look great when a guy turtles all night.

Yeah it seems like infighting is GGG "weakness". In quotes, because I think it will take a Ward caliber guy to really have a good chance at capitalizing on it.

It's not just tonight, he is always focused and patient.

He puts this aggressive/effective pressure on his opponent and before they know it - they are in survival mode, GGG Vs Martinez would be a great fight.

Seemed like he was letting Stevens land a little to get him to open up (ala Pacquiao Clottey)
He showed a great chin tonight, boxed well even when he completely gave up his height and reach advantage and went head with the shorter compact Stevens.

    Great dominating performance

There's 29 threads on the front page right now about GGG. ESB sure loves that guy.

Somebody can't get over their bitterness and give credit where it's due.

P.S. Arm length is measured instead of wingspan for a reason.:hi:

GGG also controls range very well when the fight calls for it. When he had Steven's against the ropes, he would go to work unleashing carefully picked combinations, and he'd effortlessly step out of range to make Curtis' counters whiz by his face.

His pressured yet calm demeanor and ring cutting is boss.

NO, what you did was throw out a pointless and shameless excuse!
