Estrada is a spoiler. He's got pretty fast hands and while he's no Mayweather on defence, he is deceptively good at rolling with punches or block them partially. I mean, how many times did he really get hit CLEAN last night? This, and the fact that he's never been knocked down makes it hard to make an impact him. That said, Povetkin (who was in bad shape) did look more powerful and authoritative with his punches against Estrada, but i don't think Adamek looked THAT bad.

I think he'd do well to go back to 210-215lbs. Obviously he's not a big hitter, so he should focus on stamina, speed and skill to get his stoppages, the same way Evander Holyfield did. I did like Adamek's body punching. He needs that.

Given his lack of power and somewhat open-defence, i don't give him a chance against Wlad, but he might do well against other top contender or beltholders.

Yeah , also add to this that estrada was in the best shape of his career , and adamek has always had troubles with slick and fast boxers , Although the visible stamina issues of adamek made me wondering if he is really able to hang with the big boys , he has to stay busy to beat arreola for example ,ofcourse Arreola is 2,5 times slower than Estrada and wont catch adamek as often and as easy as Jason did but it seems he has good stamina even with all the fat , so he could very well break adamek down in the later rounds , adameks workrate must rise twice if they ever fight or he wont make it.

I disagree that Adamek will not have power as HW. It wasnt full Adameks performance (he will improve in next fights, as it was at CW), but he still made a mess on Estrada's face. It rather shows how tough guy is Estrada, than Adamek doesnt have power at HW.

I though Adamek's best weight was 215. Agreed. He should focus on speed and stamina.

I agree that 215 may be a bit better for Adamek, but also keep in mind that we only saw him over a 5 round period at 215, and he honestly was never really challenged then.

He went the distance, at 220, 5 lbs up from 215, in only his second HW fight, and his first fight at that weight, while having a high work rate, and showing lots of movement. Like everyone has said, Estrada is fast, slick, and uncomfortable with a good chin, a spoiler. Team Adamek before the fight said they expect the fight to go the full distance, and they were right. Throughout the fight Adameks corner forbid him to engage in exchanges with Estrada and to keep the distance and box from the outside, and since Adamek is a smart well disciplined fighter, he did just that.

A fight with Arreola will look much different then todays fight with Estrada, those fighters have completely different styles. Going for Adamek is that Arreola is much slower, and much easier to hit, then Estrada, who proved to be an uncomfortable fighter.

I think Adamek will need to work on his stamina a bit, he seemed a bit gassed in the last 3 rounds.

He was WAY too heavy. There's no point in coming in THAT heavy. He looked okay...nothing great (or particularly good) but okay. It's hard to take the Estrada fight and apply it to any other fight because chances are he's not going to run into another Estrada type fighter anytime soon.

Until he gassed out in the 9th, I thought he looked dominant from rounds 3 - 8.
