Bad fights and mismatches on PPV made it a niche sport. The Hollyfield, Tyson, Lewis era fights were all PPV here in the UK and were HUGE affairs dominating the sports pages of the papers etc. If Wlad V anyone else was PPV anywhere other than E europe and Germany how many buys do you think it would get? The TV companies WANT people to watch that's how they make money, they know when they have a product they can sell on PPV as well as making all the advertising revenue. The fact that HW fights are not PPV shows exactly how little interest the public have in the product. They do research this **** you know, it's not just my opinion.

Yep, and why do you think that is???
Tyson was hyped like crazy, first in the US, later in the rest of the world.
Holyfield was the man after Tyson and still a US fighter with a great rivalry with Bowe, Lewis and again Tyson.
And Lewis is a Brit (I know Canadian actually) and one of the greats of boxing, no wonder the British newspapers were all over him.
But at that time the European mainland had already lost most of their interest and the Americans found Lewis "boring". But at the time at least there were a couple of American boxers who had a chance against (or even beat) him.

So it still was a product of the 80's hype and a caroussel of American and British boxers at the time.
The big names of that time tell the story. (no particular order)

    Tyson (US)
    Bruno (UK)
    Holyfield (US)
    Foreman (US)
    Bowe (US)
    Lewis (UK)
    Moorer (US)
    Bowe (US)
    Hide (UK)
    McCall (US)
    Mercer (US)

Cultural hub? Great Britain needs to get a culture before coming a hub.

Every nation has it's own culture. But to claim GB is the cultural hub of the western world is incorrect.

GB culture is weak and is being overpowered by european and american culture. There isn't much national culture in England, but they are more worldly.

You do realise that American culture was wig wams, raindances and scalping people until we got there don't you?

To come from the land of Chaucer, Milton, Shakespeare, Elgar, Oxbridge, The Houses of Parliment, Westminster Abbey, The Sex Pistols and Katie Price and say we have no culture is ridiculous.

Haye is annoying and people say he crosses the line. Fine. But they said that about Ali too. But everyone gets pissed at Haye. They difference with Ali was that he backed everything he said up. If Haye can beat Wlad at leas partially by winding him up (which is what Ali used to do) his actions will appear vindicated IMO. If not he will look very very foolish indeed. Haye is literally pulling a Ali Liston kind of thing here. Can he back it all up like the great man? We'll see.

There is no need to slander the red indian culture which is in fact richer than a lot of the **** produced. Just because you don't understand a culture doesn't make it inferior.

That's all England has, it's past. It will always live off it's former glories because there are no glories that lie in the future. England has been reduced to sucking on the teet of the americans, regardless if England had a major saying in developing it. America is it's own beast now and England ride it's coat tails. England is irrelevant on the world stage - It has a say but no one pays attention to it.

Your last paragraph alone shows the drop GB has taken.
