Koolaid drinker here! haha It's all in fun my friend. Rahsad isn't going to lay on top of him he's going to punch his face in.
If I remember correctly Jones is a humble young man, who just had his confidence boosted by his immense talents. :yep No need for Rashad to do it though. Deep in my heart I'd like to see someone beat Jones for the fact that it might blow the division wide open. Style-wise, Rashad is a much easier fight with everyone else. However, I really see this a devastating win for Jones before he tries assaulting the 265 division.
I can't logically back Rashad but you never know with MMA, there is a lot less of science involved. Plenty of Jones is untested because he has been so dominating in past performances. You're only as good as your last fight he will get tested eventually.
My reasoning behind backing Rashad is simple. Rahsad brought Jones into his camp and helped him learn MMA. He essentially brought him up. If you came to my gym and I brought you up - then you better fight everyone else in the world before you fight me because I would never lose to some guy that I raised in my own gym. Number one you never tell them EVERYTHING you know and number two you know all of their weaknesses and how to exploit them.
UFC went thru a couple of months w/o a PPV to promote Rashad as a worthy opponent, I just hope that he gives a good show.
Rashad and Jones haven't trained together for a long time. They both learned each other tendencies in that time, but i don't even think it will come into play. They are two different fighters now. I do have a suspicion that Jones has seen Rashad knocked out cold in training, though. When he said "trust me" in response to Rashad having a bad chin, I think he was referring to a time(s?) when he was knocked out in training. I can believe it. I also believe that Rashad could be banking on winning by laying on top of Jones, which he very well could have done early in Jones' Jackson days. Either way, I don't think that the two training with each other will have much an affect on the fight. They simply aren't the same people anymore. I predict a KO that looks shockingly similar to Silva/Belfort, btw.
LOL @ you thinking that Rashad was personally responsible for training Jones and not Greg Jackson, Mike Winkeljohn, Phil Nurse and the rest of the coaches on the team. Jones' fighting style is nothing like Rashad's is. He's shown a level of fluidity in his game that Rashad has only just recently started to display despite the fact that Rashad has been fighting twice as long as Jones has. Jones has also continued to improve in between every fight in spite of the fact that he hasn't trained with his "mentor" Rashad in well over a year. BTW knowledge gained from training works both ways.
Rashad's Last 5 Fights 5. Machida - Knocked Rashad Out 4. Silva - Knocked Rashad Down and had him badly hurt 3. Rampage - Knocked Rashad Down and had him badly hurt 2. Ortiz - Has garbage striking 1. Davis - Has garbage striking I don't know if Machida should be credited with ruining Rashad's chin, but I do know that after fighting 3 good strikers and being hurt by everyone of them, Rashad has then fought two wrestlers who couldn't crack an egg with their fists. Jon Jones is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic and versatile strikers in MMA. I have a strong feeling that Rashad is getting knocked out.
If you're not going to join the avatar bet I'm not going to waste my time replying to your moronic posts. Moronic because they show a clear lack of perception in each fight. I thought you trained MMA? Rampage didn't even knock Rashad down with a punch - he pushed him off balance.
Are you talking to me? :bart pushed him off balance? No sir, he had Rashad hurt. And in my opinion, if Page was in better shape and didn't gas, he would've finished him. I'll join the damn avatar bet.
