It's already been a year since people were really anticipating a highly technical chess match between 2 supreme boxers with elite level skills, not to mention both were 2 time gold medalists. What people didn't realize was just how much more skilled and dominant one guy was and how he was able to make the other guy quit out of frustration. Never before have I seen a highly skilled boxer like Rigo submit to retiring on his stool. That is a win that should still be considered as a great win, no matter how much people try to deny it. His fight with Rigo was quite possibly Loma's easiest fight, especially after a previous performance that many called so-so against Marriaga.

Is Rigo still lost in the matrix?

Seems like Rigo actually took the red pill, and woke up from his dreamworld to face the harsh reality, and couldn't handle it. To later hook himself back up in the Matrix.

Rigo was an ancient (apparently 5 years older than claimed), inactive manlet who was fighting three weights higher than what he should be at.

What happened, was always gonna happen.

So true, this was what I was saying before the fight. Rigo went up two weightclasses because he didn't want the fight when Loma was still at 126, which made things even worse for him. He was very inactive and probably on the slide.
Still, many fans believed he would beat (or like they said break his face) Loma easily.
Turned out it wasn't just the size and the weight, there was a very clear skill difference as well, much bigger than expected.

Due to the size and age difference this never was going to be a fight, but Loma just being that much more skilled also made it into what we saw last year.

Why would anyone bother to mark such an insignificant and trivial occasion? The sport is full of real examples of historic significance and transcendent human excellence but some people continue to worship their own bowel movements.
