This is his source : http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/news/story?id=5219919 Not sure exactly how recent that Arum quote is, though. According to Dan Rafael in his chat a couple of weeks ago, he said the tickets were moving so well that an additional 10k was being made available.
dam arum said expect 30,000, i hope it does better then that it should do way more than that its da week before da pr parade, cotto sells out the garden everytime he fights, im sure it will be in the upper 20,000s but i thought it wuld b much more, ill be there regardless
Its a pretty poor card to be honest. With a guy like Cotto who people are questioning if he has anything left against a guy like Foreman who's largely un proven and not really well. JuanMa would have been perfect for the bill and sealed the deal for Puero rican fans who might be in two minds about buying a ticket. I'm also suprised Korabov isnt on the bill to bring in some of the Russian new yorkers. I cant see why Arum hasnt put on a better card if he wants to put on a show on in a big stadium like that . Even Cotto wont be on the sort of money Manny and Mayweather ask for and i cant imagine foreman will be earning mega bucks despite being the champion so you cant really make the excuse that all the moneys going to headliners. He needs to speculate to accumulate put on a solid card which means paying more money to fighters but bring in more paying fans.
My lil brother picked up 4 tickets as a surprise for my birthday. We are going with 2 buddies. This will be my 1st live fight. cant wait.
The source is old and a misunderstanding by the thread starter.... 12 k tickets were sold within the first weeks... Let's remember Cotto is top 5 when it comes to popularity in boxing, hate him or love him.
