He nearly kd'd him , he came nowhere close to stopping him. 39 Povetkin is still a really good win and the stoppage was impressive.
You say Wilder is an Elite fighter despite not fighting any Elite fighters, how does that work? Wouldn't that mean nobody is Elite?
take last 8 fights White Martin Breazeale Molina Klit Takam Parker Pov Coming into the fights with AJ their combined record was 228-11-2 Of them 8 fighters 4 are still in the Boxrec top 10 sitting at 3,5,8 & 10 Klit was the no 1 at the time and martin is currently sitting in 15th, I do not know who else you could have squeezed in in his first 22 fights to have a better resume
lets take Wilders last 8 stiverne molina duhaupas szpilka arreola washington stiverne ortiz ok so we have 1 current top 10
Take out Klit an Pov due to both being 40, and shadows of their former selves. None of the other guys are close to being elite. The best of the rest, Whyte went life and death with a past it Chisora, many had him losing that fight. The heavyweight division is just very poor at the moment, and Joshua avoiding the second best in Wilder doesn't help.
His resume is literally as good as it can be with what’s available to him minus Wilder & Fury depending on how he looks against top opposition. It’s just I don’t feel as though HW is the greatest of divisions talent wise
So you have to fight an elite fighter before you can be considered one? Depends on your definition of elite I guess...
agree with you. It just annoys me when people say his resume is ****. you can only fight the people who are fighting st the same time as you
I just find it weird to even question AJ's legacy in the same sentence as calling Wilder an elite fighter. Wilder has had double the fights and half the challenges.
Yeah Anthony Joshua has the best resume of any fighter ever. He beat a 41 year old timid washed up Wlad in a fight he almost got knocked out in. Yet Wlad in his prime got knocked out 3 times by so called lesser fighters. Anthony Joshua beat the great Carlos Takam in a bad stoppage, he beat overrated Joseph Parker, and a 40 year old steroid cheat in Povetkin. Yep AJ has the be the best heavyweight ever.
Ok? Both Wilder and Joshua have poor resume compare to a lot of ATG... I am not arguing that Wilders is good. There is pros and cons to joshua being in a weak division, he gets to beat up bums and old men which has earnt him millions from the casuals, but his resume looks poor.
