Good to see fans voting with their feet. The ticket pricing is silly. Noone in their right mind would pay $400 for a seat at this sort of event.

Compare the hype we experienced for Khan-Maidana, to this. Day and night.

but if you don't invest in promoting a fighter, you don't build him a fanbase. in the long run, your source of cash would dissipate quickly. if you invest properly, you could build a big name, in the next few years he could sell stadiums and PPVs

    Not really.

-No one wants to take a road trip to Detroit to see Bradley-Alexander.
-Fight fans in Detroit will pay to watch people such as Andre Dirrell and the UFC.
-Fight fans in Detroit have no interest in Bradley-Alexander.

    Some perspective here:

I'm enough of a boxing fan to have joined a couple of websites about the sport. I haven't followed boxing as closely as I used to over the last couple of years, but still take more of an interest than most people

I check the results and look at the homepage of esb and other forums at least a couple of times a month

...and...I dont really know much about Bradley or Alexander, and have seen about 2 or 3 fights of Bradleys and 1 of Alexanders

These guys are nobodies. Theyre clearly v good fighters, but they are not the type of fighters you can ask for high ticket prices for or even expect to headline a ppv card.

Its different with fighters from Europe or even someone like pavlik who get very loyal local support no matter who they fight. These guys have no fan base and dont generate general interest, what do you expect?

I know, I meant it tongue in cheek because I'm well aware Michigan Warrior is one of the shittest posters around, and I know that he's a Dirrel fanboy - then he goes and compares the crowds for a hometown fighter to two out of towners. It was obviously a ridiculous thing to say, because the guy is a moron

Probably be a good event for that reason. The worst thing about most fights is the drunk idiots (no offense Hatton fans) who aren't even watching the fight

Then people wonder why fighters like Bute, Klits, Froch, abraham, want to fight at home (in front of thousands of people)
