Not surprising. They put the fight in Detroit and in the Silverdome of course the fight isn't going to sell well.

Throw it pretty much anyway, and the fight has decent sales, if in St. Louis it's a sell out, but they picked the ****ing Silverdome in ****ing Detroit. :patsch :rofl

Well if 25,000 could show up for this:

Then I'm sure another 16,000 or so can show up for this fight.

Americans are an embarrassment to professional sports. This country is boring. Need to find me a different place to live.

I know it's not really comparable 'cause they're different sports but I find it hilarious that the biggest fight in the one of the most popular divisions in boxing can't draw more than Stalybridge Celtic who play non-league football.

It's just funny that in the great scheme of things, one match in Stalybridge Celtic's fixture has no where near the importance of a boxing match like this, a fight between two top contenders in a division which barely comes off these days in boxing.

Like I said, not really comparable, I just find it funny as i recently went to watch Stalybridge Celtic play and they got just over 600, and I'd consider it nothing compared to going to an event like Bradley v Alexander.

God damn that's terrible. What's with that background with the stupid MS clipart stars? It's like that image came straight outta 1996. I expect to see a Sega Saturn advertisement on the other side of it.

You can talk about poor promotion all you like, but you promote a fight to people who do not know it's going on, to get the casual's bums on seats - so that's only a partial excuse. There's obviously a promotional issue here as it hasn't captured the imagination of the casual fans - but what about each fighter's fan base?

You don't need to hype a fight to a fighter's own fanbase - they know when their guy is fighting and they know he's in a BIG fight, so where the **** are they? Are you telling me these two guys have 300 fans between them?

How much of a draw can a fighter be if their fans won't leave their hometown to see them?

That's a very real possibilty, but a real fan will just get a $25 ticket, get in the car and hit the road.

I agree, but soemthing has to be done about this it isnt good that a lot of people go to pac and mayweather fights, yet all the other guys at below heavy have difficulties even getting people to show off.
I think its also the fault of hbo and the promoters, the promotion was just bad.
But not being able to draw a crowd of your own fans sucks. I think if I was a boxer and would fight here I would easily get 25k to show up. Just would raise hell and make noise so that people will show up. Seems like the only way.
I wonder if mma and ufc have the same problems.
