:rofl u ignorant man! calzaghe has speed, the ability to change game-plan according to his opponent mid-fight, a great chin and a massive heart! four of the most important skills in boxing!! and forgot to add that all his fights are near brawls; he does not play the counter puncher, he comes to fight!!so how is that not exciting??
This is going to be a great fight ..People are expecting to see a bust ..Im sure win or lose one of these two will gain them a new found respect for masters of their craft ! Not skilled Joe not skilled ? Even Roy now no skill ? If we can stomach a Hopkins fight we can stomach this ..PPV well thats up to you ..There have been worse ..
in britain most people have very little boxing knowledge so they will by the hype, thats different in america, they can see the difference form a **** fight and a good one. if this was a fight between two of the very best in the world, for example manny pacquiao and juan manuel marquez then it would be sold out, its a fight between a europeon bum and someone who is past it.
Why do the Glass Jaw Roy fans thiink he is a draw? :huh He never has been and has always needed either a gimmick (the Ruiz fight) or another fighter (Tito Trinidad) to sell PPV's. Are these ticket sales a surprise to anyone? This fight should be on regular HBO.
7000 Glass Jaw lovers ? Wow...maybe there will be a few Glass Hands lovers as well...... You keep reminding me there's a few annoying Glass Brain posters on this site...every time you post !
To be blunt thats **** poor for a fight i know its about 6 years to late but they are still brilliant fighters and names. I wonder how many are going over from Wales and britain out of that 7000 probably half.
I don't remember who it was, Iole on Yahoo or Fischer or Kim on Maxboxing, wrote a tremendous article earlier this year on HBO's nonsensical spending. Examples were included where they won site fees for big fights, but spent something like 5 or 6 million more than anyone else had bid. And where, if HBO had put forth any logic, they would have had to know they were spending millions more than Showtime or anyone else could afford. Millions more than they needed to, just to secure a site they realistically had zero chance of not landing in the first place. The article pointed out many instances where they spent way, way more on fights than they needed to. I wish I could find that article now, but not remembering where I read it or how long ago it was makes it difficult. It was sometime after Oscar vs Forbes, and that fight in particular, was a big example of HBO's over spending.
