They should have cut the prices of the tickets. Cant expect people to shell $150 with the state of things.

Joe isn't known well enough here and RJJ is at the twilight of his career being stopped twice recently.

Years ago this would of been huge.

How is it underhand to state a fact? There is comparatively low interest in Calzaghe v Jones because many many fans are aware that Jones was shot long ago. Sorry, just my opinion.

Not suprised by these numbers and I wont be surprised by the very low PPV numbers as well. This fight for the investment will not make a decent return, period.

Unemployment in the USA is higher than it has been in years. Many companies are laying off and some of the USA's former largest companies are on the verge of folding (General Motors).

Combine that with something like an entertainment expense such as a boxing fight, between a guy who has never been a big draw RJJ and calzaghe who is well known on ESB and europe, but your average american sportsfan has no idea who he is and you have a financially poor investment and poor sales.

Add into the fact that the cheap seats are gone and you are spending a large sum to see a fight which is really only of interest to the die hard fans and there will be a low turnout.

I see a guy broke down the costs on this and IMO he was quite light ont he actual costs. At this point a US fan will be into a Night out for this fight for around 1,000 USD minimum (2 people) if you are a local, If you have to travel for this fight with hotel it will be substantially more.

In Uk pounds thats about 650 pounds.

Actually, even the diehards think of this as a boring and meaningless fight. There are few interested parties, except for some loyalist RJJ and Calzaghe fans.
