Don't believe that Ward is at Calzaghe's level just yet. He may surprise some of us, though.

I'll consider it a victory of sorts if Andre is still standing when the final bell sounds.

 

I "Hate" Kessler for 3 reasons...


1. He's been very overrated by Calzaghe, Calzaghe superfans, The Danish, and Anti-Americans in general...

2. The overwhelming majority of those types above are nationalistic, fighter fans and don't know **** about Boxing...their favorite fighter normally HAS to be from their homeland...

3. These garbage fans insult The Quality Boxing fans with their very existence...therefore...they must be destroyed.


and you do that by doing what I do...which is make appearances on certain pivotal fights, post some strong assessments/predictions in a harsh manner, and be successful...

This, in turn, reminds the garbage fans where they and their lacking fighters truly stand...and in the process, hopefully, teaches them a lesson...it might teach them to be the best Boxing fans they can be...

So as you can see...this really isn't personal against Kessler himself...he is only being collaterally damaged...and I am actually being quite noble by doing this....

It's for The Love of The Sport and The Future of its fans.

Sadly for Mr. Ward, I feel he is going to be even more moved by Mr. Kessler's handiwork.

 

He doesnt need to be on slaps level to beat Kessler.I love how kessler is giving elite status even though he's never beaten a great opponent, and hasnt fought any comp at all in 2 years.

Well said. There is really no reason KEssler is rated so highly. I made a poll after the Dawson Tarver fight and the majority picked Kessler to beat Dawson in a fictional matchup. Someone needs to end this hype job once and for all.

U.S. born and bred, not a drop of Scandinavian blood, and was rooting for Calzaghe alright...to get KTFO by Kess. Been a diehard since watching a crappy live feed of the Beyer fight, and intrigued well before that. Hardly my first trip to the rodeo, though. The guys in my av? Their battle marked the start of my second (and ongoing) love affair with the sport - and first as an adult - after a hiatus of several years. Enough about me though, on to the subject at hand...

You can call him a "robotic stand-up Eurobum" or you can call him "a technically brilliant total-package" - if you clear your mind of all bias, you can see him for what he is from the vantage of middle ground: A fundamentally sound and exciting fighter with decent power and a good chin - yes, with some flaws and limitations, like virtually any seasoned pro - who's had some serious management issues and has suffered from what's tantamount to inactivity save for some glorified aggressive sparring in between his unification bid and the Super Six.

Hating him - or his fans - just because people talk about him in enthusiastic tones (which really seems to be the case) is stupid and petty. People like his style. There tends to be a lot of talk surrounding guys with styles that people like. Nobody's saying he'd move up and clean out LHW, CW, and HW. No ridiculous outlandish claims have been made - the most severe you'll find is that he's the #1 at 168 with a bullet. And honestly, any objective party would have to agree with that until proven otherwise. Is he the GOAT at the weight? No. He's the head and shoulders best, right now. Your little crusade to defend against some imaginary overrating that's going on in your head is much ado about nothing. That you have ulterior motives is plain as day, even if exactly what they are isn't. Maybe you just dislike his style. Or want to stir the pot. Or a Dane raped your mom. Don't know, don't care. But this "champion of the truth" bologna...it's thinner than Andre Ward's resume.
