Ward is a local guy, so I am biased, but Kessler never really struck me as all that great in the first place. I'll take ward for the unanimous decison.

Miranda hasnt stopped anyone better then anyone Andrade has beaten. True. But he has performed well against the top 2 middleweiht s in the world. And probably should have held the title had the fight not been in Germany. Yes Andrade deserved a win over Bute, but he wasnt in the fight until the last round by any stretch of the imagination.

Kesslers best win is Andrade. Thats all that really needs to be said.

There is no real hype in the USA about Ward yet. Americans usually have to achieve something to get noticed. In Europe it seems all yoiu need is da paper title, defend it against some journeymen and your a star.

I mean, you should know the HAtton, Calzaghe, Amir Khan method by now

So now we are on the page, you see what I'm saying. You can't come with one standard and then not apply that on every level, thats an agenda.

Miranda has performed well on occasions against good fighters, agreed, but so did Andrade against Bute. On a different night Miranda might have got the decision, or elsewhere Abraham might have been pulled out, on a different night Andrade might have got the KO. They are not much different in that respect.

My personal view is that Andrade is a better win because he hasn't been knocked out in bad fashion, he's not so one handed, and he works you every minute so even if you find a way to outbox him you still have to work damn hard to maintain. I'm not sure thats the case with Miranda, once you've seen the right hand he hasn't got another string to his bow. He's also more accomplished at 168lbs which is the weight class we're referring to.

How do we really think Andrade vs. Miranda at 168 goes?

    I mean seriously.

We'll even allow one to say before the Abraham rematch. Makes no difference.

how was Andrade against Bute a good performance? HE basically got punched in the face for 11 rounds without a response and Bute got caught in the 12th. I fully expect Bute to dominate Andrade widely in the rematch.

Miranda actually had his moments against Pavlik and Abraham. Andrade had one moment, the rest of the fight was really a shalacking.

    Thats where we differ.

What you seem to miss is Hatton was the man at 140 and lost a couple of fights fighting top p4p guys.

Calzaghe was the man at 168, won all the belts and beat everyone that stepped in a ring with him.

Khan is an iffy paper champ that shouldnt be mention in the same breath as the other two. Funnily enough though the glass chinned wonder has still managed to do more in his career than ward has so far despite Ward being 3 years older.

He didn't just get caught in the 12th. If Bute just got caught does that mean Andrade has the power in one punch to badly hurt one of the best fighters at this weight class? So is he really different to Miranda in that case? You can't have that both ways.

Or more likely, like I said earlier, even when you are beating Andrade comfortably he makes you work every single second. That is what he does, he knows he ain't skilled so he works with what he has and hopes it pays at the end.

    No really he did.

There was that moment at the begining of the fight before they came together. That went okay.

The thing with Miranda/Pavlik is if we appreciate what Miranda is trying to achieve in the ring you have to realize he was having very little joy in the fight. Sure, he landed, who doesn't against Pavlik. He was having a lot more success in landing than Andrade did against Bute for the majority of the fight.

But is Miranda honestly making more headway in that fight than Andrade was against Bute? I don't think so. Miranda was going backwards, Miranda can't go backwards and beat anybody. That takes away a lot of his raw power, and then what has he got on the backfoot? Not much of an arsenal. That was a matter of time. Andrade was getting outboxed, but Bute had to work like he'd never had done before, Andrade was actually doing what he needed to do with the limited tools at his disposal even though he was getting owned majorly. And it very nearly paid off.
