It's clearly just to be flashy thats why he has the big 300 pound boucer looking body guards. If he cared that much about his safey he'd have two average size Chuck Norris dudes in suits that can kill you 100 different ways with an ice cream stick.

I think part of it is for show. The truth is that most of the bodyguards celebrities have are useless, they are just steroided or fat as **** hulks that are there to intimidate people. If Floyd really felt his life threatened he'd call up a company a get a couple of ex special forces guys to follow him around, so I think it is mainly for show and to keep away fan boys.

Pacquiao has a huge security detail in the Philippines, but he actually needs them. He doesn't drive around in a Porsche and meet his guards at the gym, he drives in a motorcade and has guys outside his house with fairly large rifles.
