GSP is gonna take a break after Fitch, and I don't think we are gonna see BJ wait like 6 months for fighting GSP.. 1GSP-Fitch (If GSP won he takes a break) BJ-(winner between Huerta and Florian) BJ-Hughes 3???(all that depend of if Hughes beat Alves) GSP-Alves(all that depend if Alves beat Hughes) and after that GSP-BJ 2? in 2009 in summer? that could be one of the most hyped bout for UFC no?
He broke GSP'S nose by slightly clipping him with an uppercut After that GSP wanted the fight on the ground and didn't wanna stand anymore. GSP had nothing to offer on the feet. What fight were you watching?
True story, totally agree. However it doesn't seem like BJ is to interested in fighting the winner of Florian vs Huerta. But I guess we'll have to see what happens.
and h poke him in the eye which troubled the vision of GSP, of course at that point he didnt want to trade , GSP is more complete on his feet now, and at the time of this fight, GSP didnt had good trainer for boxing or good sparring partner, believe it or not, that change a lot..now he is training with Brother Grant for boxing, and he spare with world champion Joachim Alcine..that help a little bit! his wrestling have improved, and now he is gonna to brazil to upgrade his Jiu Jitsu with the Gracie..he wont be better than BJ in jiu jitsu, but he aint gonna be a scrun either! BJ on other hand is better at striking too, better stamina, but i aint convinced I mean, the fight vs Sherk was at slow pace with no grappling at all nearly, GSP is gonna have a better gameplan than Sherk.. I see this fight go to the decision..I hope this is a 5 rounder
Yeah but i don't know if its gonna be as effective vs BJ than it was vs Serra..Serra was seriously tired in the 2nd
Because against BJ, he is gonna have a real hard time taking him down if BJ isn't gassed out. So he will push him against the fence. I see this going alot like the first fight only if BJ has more in the gas tank he might beat him up a bit more on their feet and he will be able to avoid the takedown better late. This all depends on BJ's stamina I believe.
It could, but BJ has a style on his feet that is just difficult. He doesn't appear to be doing anything special but he always just seems to get off first or slip shots and counter effectively. The guy is unbelievable really, he's a natural standing and a freak-phenom on the ground.
I hope it's a 5 rounder too. A 5 round fight between those guys would be awesome. And true yes GSP has a way better training camp now. Before he would have to train his stand up in Canada then come to New York to train at Renzo's. Not being at Greg Jackson's camp having quality sparring partners has benefit him. Also going to Brazil to improve his Jiu-Jitsu would be a good move also. But to be honest in a fight against BJ, GSP'S Jiu-Jitsu training would be used more for a defense cause he's not gonna tap BJ with anything. Both GSP and BJ are more complete now. I think BJ'S cardio is where it needs to be. Sean Sherk tries to push a serious pace and BJ was ready. BJ'S cardio improved because he was getting tired around round 2 and 3 when he fought GSP the first time and Matt the second time. BJ stopped Joe Stevenson in round 2, and Sherk in round 3 and if he wouldn't have stopped them he could have gone the full 5. He was still very fresh and controlling the fight and going at his pace. BJ'S cardio failure was the reason GSP was able to finally take him down in the first fight. Now it would be a much more tough and entertaining fight between the two. I can't pick a winner to be honest with you, there both at the top of there game.
you guys know what the scary thing about bj is, and i think we more or less all conceed this fact, is that the universal way of beating bj seems to be whether or not he gets tired, that in itself is a scary thing, to know full well that you cannot beat ur opponent at any aspect of the game and hope, just hope he doest put your lights out because you KNOW he WILL whoop ur ass as long as he has gas in the tank to do it
