What does that mean? I hope it ain't a reference to how Manny got all the way up to 147 without fighting one "slick black American" fighter, hahaha. :huh I would pay anything to see Manny do a "tune-up" versus Zab Judah, hahaha. 45, 60, hell even 70. Name the price and I am there!

Nobody at WW wants ANY part of Paul Williams... Nobody! Hahaha.

This is in reference to a thread that PBF have NOT fought any "Tall Slick Black Fighters"... it's irrational but it generated a lot of hits. :yep

exactly! he was too eager for the big money fight, being that his career is winding down. the oppoiste may be true as well, he's always been too nice for his own good and some say that is why he's not a bigger box office draw

Hahaha, not too many tall guys down at 147 and below last time I looked, hmmm... :think

Hey (prime) Corley, (first 4 rounds) Judah, (focused) Augustus are about as slick as they come.

to be fair though, it's interesting that for parts of their fights they gave mayweather some of the most trouble he's encountered. he once said augustus was his toughest fight, corley visibly stunned him and judah did great early. other than pressure fighters like castillo and chavez, these three annoyed him the most (ok maybe DLH but **** that fight)

I can't agree with you more.

That is why I am so torn about Mayweather's "persona". Part of me says, "Why be such an ass?" At the same time, casual fans are where the real money is. You need a good "hero/villian" story to attract them.

All that nice guy ish got or is getting Mosely, Clottey, Williams, JMM, Donair, etc... what? Low paying fights.

I agree. Mayweather seems to only be beatable with raw physical gifts. 99% of the "slick black American" fighters who have the physical gifts don't have the discipline (cardio conditioning in camp) and will to beat him. I think Mosely could be the exception, but he lacks the foot speed to stop the pot shotting.

Pressure? I think it slows Mayweather down, but rarely (Castillo 1) gives him trouble. He just waits it out. "You will tire. I will catch you."

That is what intrigues me about this MP fight. MP may not have all of the physical gifts, but has the discipline to put in the cardio work and execute a game plan with Roach. Nobody can doubt his will to suffer through adversity. His speed and power are nothing to overlook either. Very interesting.
