Wrong. It is the style of fighter. If two guys are standing in front of each other in a "flinch and I will punch you" sitiation, my money is on Zab. Who said Zab was superior to Manny? Zab is ONLY faster on the draw than Pac. Pac is faster in combinations and just better in a bunch of other skills/intangibles that make him overall a better fighter. Clottey? He fights in an orthodox stance and isn't fast. I guess you mean Hatton. Hatton landed one shot and was eventually KTFO. I am not sure how this plays into your theory. EDIT - I guess you meant Corely. Dude Manny's style is nothing like Judah's or Corely's. They are "slick" relying on athletic talent, reflexes, and trickery (feints, false openings). Manny fights nothing like that. This is boxing. You will get hit. People don't give FMJ credit for his chin, but he has a great one. He just chooses not to get it tested too often.
And if those don't work what do you suggest are ways 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Or do they not exist? Should an opponent who can't execute these two strtegies just quit? It's a flawed analysis, man.....
That might work once or twice but get him a few times and he will be on to that move and will not let it happen again. You have to remember you cant follow the same pattern when fighting floyd. This is the reason why Floyd is still undefeated. People always go on about the shoulder roll and how to penetrate it, like just doing that alone is going to win you the fight. Please note he has tons of other defensive techniques at his disposal. Beating one for a round or so will mean he will change. He has so many different styles (most of which people just class as one) that he uses. Watch another floyd fight fight and watch it good. IMO the way to beat him is do come out with a different style each round so he never settles. This sounds weird, and i doubt many boxers could actually do this, but being a massive PBF fan and studying his strenghts and weaknesses i think this is the only way. He is a slow starter beause he needs to work you out. If you keep changing he will never work you out.
He's pretty fast with his body shots, but a quick enough fighter could do it. Marquez landed a few overhand rights in the fight, but Mosley's height will allow him greater success without counter if he's close enough against the ropes, since he's taller and can reach over that shoulder.
It takes a lot more than that to beat him. Those are just 2 situations that would mean little in an actual fight. Also, it's easier said than done, especially since he adjusts so quickly to what you're doing.
Sure. One shot. Get into the shoulder roll position, lean onto your back foot, and put your right hand at your temple. Now shift it up, face your palm out, and shift your hand over your left eye. Overhand nullified with a SLIGHT shift. This might get Mosely one or two good shots. Mayweather will most definitely adjust. Then again that is all it takes sometimes. Still, it is a long shot.
Prime Pac? He's at his peak right now dude. This version of Pac whipes the floor with Floyd, I'll bet you anything. An old Oscar took Floyd to a split decision. Prime Oscar beats him easy. Most of the great welters all beat Floyd. Floyd's a great lightweight, but he hasn't proven anything at welter. Overrated is the only word I can think of.
Well obviously his whole goddamn strategy shouldn't be based off of one counter and one power-punch now should it. And whose to say his right won't break through his blocks?
everyone on here is ignoring mayweather's offense. mayweather knows he's open when he throws the jab. his goal is to either score a point for landing, or counter you with a straight right and when you try to counter that jab. he rarely throws it with much conviction or when he's out of range. hopkins and floyd have similar styles and if you want to see how to beat it, try to stay up while watching hopkins vs taylor 2. taylor simply matched hopkins for every exchange with combintations. though they weren't very effective, taylor understood that judges today go for activity as opposed to efficiency.
