Golovkin is the star, he sells tickets, Ward can't draw flies and is afraid to fight Stevenson, Kovalev, Beterbiev or anyone else at his natural weight. Ward's best punch is his head, good with his elbows, etc., Ward is a cheater...............................Ward is history......................
Yes, I think you are correct, but Golovkin wants to unify the middleweight titles before he does anything. Golovkin is the star, let SOB fight on BET...........................
Rewind back to the first week of September, 2012. GGG was an unknown in this country making his debut on HBO against Proksa fighting for a ham sandwich and a fist bump. Ward was dismantling Chad Dawson in one-sided fashion for 7 figures and had the boxing world in the palm of his hands. Fast forward to present day, and that unknown Kazakh headlined a PPV before the golden boy, the Super Six champion and top 3 P4P frontrunner. The guy who had his entire career here in America, and is still the last U.S. Olympic Gold medalist, had a 3 year head start and mountains more career momentum at that point. Yet, it's the choir faced Kazakh who stole his thunder after Andre himself willingly donated his momentum to the toilet. It's Golovkin who, despite his career being nothing compared to Andre's in terms of resume, accomplishments, backing, or hype, overcame and surpassed Ward to being the PPV headliner. While GGG fought for short money, Andre talked because he only wanted big money. Now, all that's left is the sour g****s of Ward fans and GGG haters who have to live in 2012, because nobody wants to admit that it should've and could've been Andre headlining a PPV show tonight. But Ward blew it, and Golovkin is eating his lunch. Fighters fight. Ward talks. That's all that the entitlement he's had since the Super Six allows him to do. And all you can do is listen, think "what if", and live in 2012, where an unknown foreigner with shoddy English doesn't become the face of boxing that ol' Andre could've been. Maybe one day you'll even have another Ward fight to look forward to. That's the impact of GGG.
I'm not on the GGG hype yet. But if he moved up and was able to KO Abraham (talk about a granite chin), beat DeGale and Ward or some of the top guys i would be impressed. Froch is/was a great fighter but would be tailor made for GGG imo.
