Only way to make Bhop Jones II legit now is for Jones to officially say that it will be his last fight, win or loss. That way even if Bhop destroys him in a couple of rounds, HBO gets a chance to turn it into a thanks and farewell Roy show. Bhop gets his chance to finally shut Roy up. Roy gets one last chance to go out as a winner and end his career on a high note.
The best LHW in the world and p4p top-10 fighter vs a guy that hasn't beaten a quality opponent in 6 years. There is nothing that can legitimize this fight. It'd be a cynical exploitation of fan loyalties for a few dollars. Nothing else.
The fact is - RJJ fans are dumb, they have been paying for fights against garbage men and the like for years. Jones is a type of wrestling boxing hero for folk who don't know much about boxing and want someone to hold on a pedestal. Roy Jones will be able to fight indefinitely, win or lose, against pretty much any class of opponent and these dumb folk will fund it!

Just like everyone was so excited to see Ali's drama in the bahamas or his last hurrah. These men need to preserve their mental faculties as long as they can. This quick buck mentality being thrown around is going to ruin the life of these fighters.
The ONLY person who can win from this fight is Roy. Neither the fans, Hopkins, nor anyone else gets anything from it. If Roy had looked great against Green, the fight would have had a shot at legitimacy, despite Roy's offbeat form in the past few years. Now the fight has zero steam. Too little, too late.
