I really don't like open scoring because it grossly affects the fighters mentality during a fight.

I'd rather see boxing create a legitimate commission that effectively polices the judges at ringside. I'd reward the consistent judges by making them the first choice for serious title matches and big money fights.

Takes the Drama out if a close fight. Nothing like being on pins & needles, waiting to see the scoring...

Lennox Lewis would of liked it against holyfield in march 1999
so would sweet pea against JCC in 1993 and oDLH in 97

oscar tito would of been a classic if the scores were open

    i'm for open scoring.

it would make for better fights in the late rounds.

no excuse for laying back if a fighter knows he's behind.

in early rounds, fighters will learn what the judges are looking for, and adjust.

    judges will be more accountable.

Not only does it take the suspense out of fighting but it can work in reverse. For instance, if a fighter is in a competitive fight but all of a sudden he realizes that he is clearly ahead on points after a certain interval, there is no incentive to go for the KO.

    im split on the matter.

as much as i dont want guys to lose when they clearly won. i feel a open scoring system would destroy the whole fight. why fight when your clearly ahead.

it wouldnt make a difference to german based judges they would be doing the same thing.

i like the idea of a seperate judging commission (which it should of had long ago).

maybe a 7 round open score card but anything else would just be too much. judging is just there to say who would of won if the fight kept going on.

In general, I do not like it. I do believe that open scoring keeps a crooked judge a bit more honest though.

It's an interesting concept, given there have been so many fukked up decisions from the 90's on and so many fights the last 4 years or so have been oh so close.

It would change everything tho. Say the Whitaker - Chavez bout, realistically he is beating Chavez solidly yet the scores are telling him otherwise. So what does he do? He might engage more say, and bring Chavez back into a bout he would otherwise never have been in.

Maybe 3 judges are not enough. Maybe they need more for the BIG fights to get a better consensus.

Your a neutral judge sitting ringside where 20,000 fanatical supporters are watching their hero getting his arsed kicked in a one sided fight.

Would you have the balls to score a round against that fighter, knowing it is going to be announced at the end of the round?

You are better of keeping the current system, that way the judges can get out of dodge before the decision is announced. Then you have the riot after the fight, not during it.

Yeah, Germany is sooo bad, every fighter who isn´t German-based get´s robbed there even if he get´s knocked out. Stop with your bs bias, idiot!

I´m totally against open scoring. It would change the sport more than we realize it would and not to its advantage.
