Open scoring ruined the fact that canelo could have pushed for a fitting finish?

Great performance by canelo, impressed by everything except for his stamina. But after the 12 he was told to be defensive which was kind of disapointing. I really thought if canelo oushed for it in the end he could have landed some big shots and possibly ending the fight on a knockdown. That being said stamina was the factor that made canelo less effective. By the time he adjusted to trout he had already gassed and gave rounds away.

Another very talented fighter lacking in stamina :-(

Yeah, I think Canelo gassed after putting down Trout and going for the KO.

I've always been against open scoring, and this fight was a perfect example of why.

What reason was there for Canelo to press the accelerator when he knows he's well ahead?

The same for Trout. The fact that he knew he was well behind effects how he fights and took him off his game plan.

All of these rounds were competitive, without open scoring, each fighter would have fought to claim rounds instead of Trout fighting aggressive and Canelo not taking any unneccary chances.

Open scoring absolutely killed it for me.
A fight unfolds better letting it take its natural course.

    Phuey for open scoring!
