    Do you see some similarities?

Garcia should seriously Improve Rios to be a Monster... Be more defensive and counter more, combos... but still be the same RIOS just more refined to create the ultime BAD ASS MONSTER.

    What do you think?

Rios is a more technical version of JCC but with less power.

Nah I'm not going to say that, Chavez would probably be offended by being compared to Rios.

Rios is like an exact copy of Antonio Margarito in my eyes.

Jesus Doc, you completely dropped the ball here.......

......it does'nt matter that you said, "poor mans version" the fact of the matter is that Rios is in no way, shape or form even comparable to Chavez.

Chavez was the ultimate boxer/puncher, he could beat you either way, boxing or swarming......

Chavez was multi-dimensional of which included a sound defense, great head and waist swivel movements.
Rios has no defense, his offense is his defense.

You cant compare the two because they are simply two different styles.
Even if you were to just take the offensive pressure side of it, Rios lacks in the education of how to cut off the ring the way a master like Chavez did it.

I wish you could take this thread back and delete Doc.

I see him as another version of Margarito: steel chin, lots of heart, slow but throws a lot of punches along with constant pressure. Rios has a bit more pop in his shots but I foresee a similar rise and fall scenario unless he improves. He ate a lot of clean shots from Acosta and nearly went down. One can only take so much. He really needs to improve his defense. But for sure he is fun to watch.

Rios fights similar to Margarito.....the differences are that Margarito who was a champion as a welter had a physical height and reach advantage on most Welters which allowed him to compete vs better skilled fighters than he......

Rios is not going to have that height and reach advantage, so I think that unless Rios' skills improve immensely, he's going to have a harder time against fighters that are even B level than Margarito would.

On the flipside, Rios punching power is more devestating than Margarito's.
.....so what Rios lacks in height and Reach, he makes some up in having better punching power than Margarito.
