i argued with a few people who thaught hatton would beat mayweather on the basus that they had never heard of mayweather! i talk to the guys at my work about boxing sometimes and if you mention someone they aint heard of they think he must be crap ''aye ok mate whatever'' type ****. cotto, JMM, it dont matter.
it also pisses me off when people think its set in stone ali was the best boxer of all time, mention sugar ray robinson and they aint heard of him! where im from anyway!

 

most of my non boxing fan mates love Mayweather. he has well and trully crossed over.

I had the opposite of this last night. My mate who normally talks an unreal amount of bollocks texted me after the first round of the Malignaggi fight saying that he reckoned he was gonna stop Senchenko. I said Paulie never stops anybody and called him a ****ing idiot. Broken clock and all that I suppose

 

Not boxing but what really pissed me off, and am still abit bitter about it now, i got a tip from PK on the Grand Prix, he was telling me about the weather, cars, endurance and all that stuff i know nothing about and told me to put my money on 50/1 Alonso to win. i put £5 E/W on my sky bet account and was all ready but for some reason thought i'd get a 2nd opinion from a mate who is just starting to become slightly more than a casual fan and who totally talked me out of it, despite knowing **** all. Anyway, alonso won and i wasn't £300 richer :-( never ever will i talk to him about betting again :x:x

It's easy to get into stupid arguments with people who know nothing about boxing. One of my favourites was when a mate put on FB after the Wlad vs Haye fight that Haye was **** and overrated, and he'd never been a real world champion (bet he was really proud of himself for finding out Haye only held one HW belt)

I replied that didn't he know Haye was a unified cruiserweight champion?

His reply was "They weren't real world titles, that's like winning the Championship in football mate"
