Not a mate of mine but I was standing at the bar one day in my local and actually caught a guy waxing lyrical to the barmaid about how he used to spar a guy called Lennox Lewis in jail back in the 70's , the **** had to be about 5 foot tall in platform shoes and 65 if he was a day .

Then on the other hand there was the other time i was admiring a picture of Jimmy Wilde on a pub wall and this old fella bumped into me then asked me if i knew who the fella was in the picture ? i replied yes sir that's Jimmy Wilde . his response was that he knew Wilde and he himself had fought a fella called Rocky Marciano back when , ( Turns out the old fella REALLY had fought the Rock as an am and drew with him over 4 rounds at RAF St Athan during the war ) also turns out the Old Boy was none other than Dr Jack Mathews former Am boxing champ , winner of 17 Welsh Rugby Union caps and 6 British Lion Caps . had a great afternoon talking about Wilde etc a True Gentleman .

i used to go out with a lass from belfast and last september i was in a taxi on the way to hers from the airport and the driver had boxing gloves on his mirror so i got talking and he said he used to be pro, so i played his bluff and asked if he had fought anyone decent, and he replied erik morales. i then didnt believe him so he gave me a photo of himself with his name on john lowey, when i got home i put it into youtube and watched him get his arse handed to him by erik.

The biggest laugh was when his son walked in and asked me if HE was bothering Me lmfao . I talked to him for about three hours .

talking about price fury the other day, a mate said that they are both hiding from wilder, who is fighting and winning every week and that wilder isn't getting any coverage because he is fighting unknown journeymen. Whereas price and fury are fighting equally bad fighters who just happening to be known over here.then he just started saying the bronze bomber to himself, I more shocked he knew who the **** wilder was then annoyed

 

Great thread, i get this all the time the most recent was when my mate started talking about the possible Vitali Klitschko vs David Haye fight he then went on to say "I dunno why people are getting so excited about it, Klitschko will just beat him again" I then had to explain how their is two Klitschko brothers at that point a passer by in the pub says "Aii but their both exactly the same and they only ever fight in their own country ****in german *******s" atsch I then had to explain how the Klitschkos were from Ukraine and that they were different in the way they fought and had completely different skill sets, i literally went through both of their careers to get my point across. I would never have classed myself as an expert on the Klitschkos but come on some people are just bloody ignorant to say stuff like that.
