I really wanted Costello to be brilliant as I'd never heard him on live radio boxing but he's nothing special. More tolerable than Smith though.
I'm actually not sure. I said on Saturday thst Costello sounds like he is commentating on the horses. Smith was full of cliches and pre written sound bites for later use where Costello just wont shut the **** up haha.
Respectfully, I disagree. He has been a radio commentator throughout his career - and an exceptional radio commentator. Just check out Joshua-Ruiz I round 3: This content is protected I totally accept that his DAZN work so far has not been up to this level ye. On his last BBC podcast he admitted it was a huge learning curve - he is getting far more information in his ear, he hasn't yet mastered the art of silence, and exactly when to bring Andy Lee in. If it's still shaky after a few more shows, then perhaps I'll join you in thinking it isn't going to work. The fact that he's acknowledged what we are all thinking is a very good sign. If this works out, DAZN subscribers have got the best possible appointment. I for one am willing to give him the chance to mature into TV commentary.
If DAZN were serious, they would have hired Steve Bunce. The encyclopaedia of boxing. Instead we get Laura Woods and Maya Jam.
The sports market was saturated with subs before DAZN appeared. Sky Sports BT Sports Premier Sports Amazon Prime Video Boxnation - still limping along Add in Sly Sports Box Office, BT Sports Box Office and we can see why Eh Day really has to display game changed to go with his high price change.
Never gets old. Smith looking like he’s struggling for balance and about to pass out. Legs are shaky Adam!
He's a good presenter. What's gonna be tough for him is that in radio commentary you're telling the listener what you're seeing whereas in tv commentary you're commentating on what the viewer is seeing. Big difference. Like Rugby vs NFL.
Bubbles gotta burst soon So many subscription based services these days, you surely have to have the content to survive let alone thrive DAZN at this time just doesn't It will be a dip in, dip out service for me
Let's be honest here, take maxi fight out of that show and it was a pile of badly matched fights. Bateson - ex GB who was boring tbh. Price - in against a padded pudding. Taylor and Benn fights to me were boring. Bridges - kind of enjoyed it as it was competitive. Warrington- was just warming up nicely. I really want it to work but they need a matchmaker who can make the styles gel not just finds opponents. Going to lose some customers or not gain any as that show and fightcamp were poor in my opinion.
I've been very pro-DAZN on this forum, but I 100% agree with this. Unless they come up with a good annual pass deal for say £50, it won't ever be a permanent sub for me. More than likely, I'll keep it for my October renewal which should include the Liverpool card and Whyte. That'll be a good time to give it a break and re-assess in the new year.
