Sounds like that was solely Hearns decision and he knows everything of course. We need the Goat back, Ian Darke. Loved him.
Galal has looked awesome for me, let’s hope Cruz takes to the pros the same. Loma had a very competitive debut at the time with Ramirez and I thought Hayemaker matched Joe Joyce pretty tough in his first one against Lewison.
When you look at it from the outside, it seems that only Matchroom is really struggling to sell tickets.
With the many millions from DAZN shouldn't be possible for Matchroom to make Ian Darke an offer he couldn't refuse ?
April 1: Joshua Franklin - sold out (despite the extortionate prices) April 22: Cordina Rakhimov - sold out May 20: Taylor Cameron - sold out Remember that Joyce never sold out against Parker or Zhang and neither did Yarde against Beterbiev. Most shows aren’t selling out, unless they are going to a territory which doesn’t have many shows, like Dublin, Belfast and Bournemouth for example, or you’re going to small arenas / venues like York Hall or the Telford International Centre. Okolie didn’t do great tickets at Wembley Arena last time out, and most of the crowd in Birmingham left during Buatsi’s main event (came for the ticket sellers). I am not hating on anyone by the way. Just making a point that your assertion that “it’s only Matchroom who can’t sell tickets” is total nonsense.
I don't think Darke wants to do boxing anymore. Surely BT would have used Darke if he was looking to call boxing again?
Agree he’s happy doing the Premier League and Champions League on BT. Can’t blame him if that is the case when you have commentated on classics like the Morales/Barrera trilogy and DeLaHoya/Mosley.
Added to the Josh Kelly card on June 24. Also another US Golden Boy Card on DAZN on May 27. I think DAZN have had a card almost every week from April until July. That's what they need to continue to do as well as adding more content from other sports.
I heard from multiple sources that they gave away between 4000 and 5000 tickets to the AJ vs Franklin event.
I write that Matchroom is struggling to sell tickets and you can't deny that. Please try reading my post again
Bless you. The hate is real kid. please let us know these sources so we can have a laugh at them. there were less than 600 comped tickets for event sponsors and family/friends
As others have said above, he's very happy with where he's at now I think. Pity though as his commentary is second to none. I enjoy hearing him do CL football, but it would be nice to hear him do maybe just one more fight for old times sake! If you have some time to spare I can highly recommend This content is protected interview tris dixon conducted with Ian on his boxing lifestories podcast. He has some great stories from his early days covering fights for BBC and then sky....
