That should be the standard of UK show at least three times per month to justify a subscription for a UK boxing subscription channel. Hearn has programmed people to accept any old shyte as standard mainly dressed up as nextgen with 2 female fights thrown in.
Im interested to know, are DAZN UK subscribers (myself included) getting Garcia v Nostrills and Canelo v Munguia as part of the regular package? Or do they expect us to PPV for either or both of them over here?
There won't be many up from the UK watching those fights in the middle of the night and I will be shocked should Nostrills and Canelo be seriously troubled by either opponent. I don't think DAZN UK even bother thinking about Box Office for the very few UK diehards up watching fights at 4am or worse unless one of our top boys is fighting. This surely 'part of your subscription'?
I will get up for both of them, so I don’t mind paying an ongoing monthly subscription to see those 2. I think Munguia has a chance, Canelo looked pretty laboured against John Ryder who I have never rated. Sadly I reckon those 2 fights could be as good as it’s gets this stateside this year. Hopefully not.
Hopefully Benn gets a crack at Benavidez in the near future. Looking forward to the day Benn is in the ring looking like a box of eggs dropped from 6 feet.
I know we've all made plenty of jokes about this but seriously, how are they getting away with this! Surely anyone classed as NXTGEN should be under 24/25 at an absolute max. A couple of years ago they were mocked on here for headlining a NXTGEN with a 28 year old - but it's getting worse, they are now filling out these shows with fighters in their early / mid 30's and of course we don't hear a peep from any of the ifl/box social channels questioning it! At this point I think they are just trolling boxing fans
It’s definitely bizarre. It’s almost too bizarre to be deliberate, say what you want about Matchroom but they aren’t totally stupid. They will know this looks ridiculous and damages their reputation, deservedly so. I have to think there’s contractual stuff going on here, either with DAZN or a sponsor, guaranteeing a certain number of Next Gen shows per year. They presumably have a frequency guarantee with Ferreira. Liverpool a long way from the natural location for Brazil v Argentina women’s boxing.
Bit of humour thinking he will have a stomach like Cool Hand Luke after eating all those eggs and have to clean out numerous weight divisions.
