Hearn’s latest interview: - people should be happy Chisora v Pulev wasn’t PPV (lol) - he’s above the level of putting Chris Billam Smith as a headliner (but Dalton Smith can?) - isn’t bothered Savannah Marshall left (yet has shyte like Bridges and Courtenay in the stable)
Heard it’s actually at £26.5m. Sky need to do 1.325m buys to make that work. So will make a loss on the show. Strange they will likely drop 4/5m on the fight amd have no upside given if AJ wins he moves to another platform
But say AJ does win and his DAZN deal can finally start, who is there for him to fight in DAZN? Fury and Joyce are BT fighters, Wilder PBC...
Tyson and Wilder never wanted it anyway, so there's... Hunter, Ruiz, Parker, Whyte, Hrgovic, Yoka, Gassiev, possibly Briedis. Then there's filler like Helenius, Arreola, Chisora, Hughie. I see Wilder staying in the states for now. So Konacki, Arreola etc will be on the menu. Tyson wants half a billion to fight a middleweight. So what can you honestly do?
Haha. Tyson and Wilder fought each other but scared of AJ. Classic. As for that list of opponents - he’s already beaten Parker, Ruiz and Whyte and the Parker and Ruiz 2 fights were dreadful so doubt there’d be much clamour for rematches. Yoka has just beat beat. Briedis just been beat at cruiser. Hunter has been crap at heavyweight. DAZN have given him equity shares or whatever they’re calling it for AJ to potentially never even fight on DAZN. If he does fight on, DAZN have no access to any decent heavyweights.
So how come Wilder wouldn't face AJ then? Wanted £50ms to fight him.but fought Tyson for like £3ms? Hmm... Before Wilder thought Tyson was out of shape, he never thought anyone who was dangerous. That's just common knowledge. Everybody in boxing had it nailed on that Wilder would destroy him due to inactivity and weight gain. Tyson, other than fighting the same man for 4 years, fought a guy that AJ turned into a meme around 6 years ago. So by your logic, who was there worth fighting if he was still with Sky?
Sky haven’t given him shares though. I know DAZN have very deep pockets but people always get bored of financing a money pit. Seen it with numerous football clubs.
Will not matter the money and draw AJ still brings to the table means that fighters will be drawn to him. they will likely want the following and DAZN have the money to offer the opponents. When the money is right the fight will happen. Unless it’s a promoter looking about for own interest. Do you honestly think if Joyce is offered the usual £4-7m to fight AJ he will be fine with Frank saying he’s a BT fighter. Joyce has no exclusive contract with BT like most top heavyweights. But off the top of my head they will make; Whyte rematch, Ruiz rematch possibly US return at MSG, fight in Nigeria against someone like Ortiz. I have also heard a rumour that DAZN have had an early discussion with Wilder about a 2 fight deal with AJ on DAZN.
